Hi all.

I had a doctors appointment last month in my brand new (wonderful) city and as we were discussing options for me to loose weight, she said, "Well, I've had really good results from patients that have gotten the gastric sleeve".... This hit me like a ton of bricks! CERTAINLY, she wasn't suggesting that for ME?... but she was. This hurt like nothing I felt before because in my head, I'm still the athletic girl I was 10 years ago, running half marathons and teaching cardio kickboxing... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED???

Sooo, I immediately went home, ordered a pizza and drank a pitcher of margaritas.... by myself. The good thing was that the margaritas made me not hungry anymore so I didnt eat the pizza... the bad thing is that I woke up the next day.... still fat.

Reality soon set in and now Im starting to see myself in the mirror the way I really am... Its like I've been looking at myself in a funhouse mirror for so long. I attended a meeting discussing the options for weight loss surgery. Spoke with the surgeon and I've decided (God and Insurance willing) to have the gastric sleeve. (Or bypass, still not sure yet and could use some advice.) So, here I go... even if this doesnt pan out, Im at the very bottom and there's only one way to go and thats UP....
