I can't believe it's been this long......
5 years ago I was given a second chance.
A lot has happened since... I lost 160 pounds in the 1st year... I had given it my all... watched what I ate, counted my proteins... went to the gym like crazy and loved it!!
Then I found out I was pregnant !!! I was soo shocked and happy, and also very worried for the baby that something would go wrong... so I stopped working, stopped exercising, started eating and snacking all the time (per nutrionniste that I had seen) and I ended up gaining 75 pounds!! 50 pounds I re-lost right after the baby but held on to the 25 extra and ended putting on another 30 pounds in the next 3 years...
So, I am giving myself a good kick in the .... and enrolled myself in a gym this week and have gone 4 days out of 5 and i'm surprised that I really like it even though I find it really really HARD!!!

I sometimes ask myself was it worth it ?
#1 reason is my Beautiful daughter Melodie.
#2 reason I am still 115 pounds lighter then I was.
#3 reason I take no medications, no health problems.
#4 reason I would have probably reached over 400 pounds and possibly dead or seriously sick...

This is therapeutic to write this down and makes me realize to not be so hard on myself sometimes.

All in all with the ups and downs it's been a great 5 years.

« 2 Years Post-Op »

A lot has happened since my last post where I was very happy to announce that I had finally dropped below 200...

Not long after, I found out I was pregnant which I thought would never happen because of the PCOS that I had, but since the surgery and the weight loss had kickstarted my hormones/ovulation... at 34 years old I got pregnant!

So at my 1 year Post-Op anniversary I was pregnant.

That kind of stalled my weight loss, now 2 years Post-Op and 3 months Post Delivery I hope I can go back to the basics and retrain my mind/stomach to continue loosing weight.

My original weight loss goal was 180 pounds before pregnancy now I'll be happy to see 200 again...
As of today I weigh 226 I went up to around 265-268 pounds, that's almost 70 pounds that I gained through my pregnancy...
WWWOOOOWWWW  when you write it down it really makes you realize how much!

I was worried since I was only 1 year post-op with the malabsorption and weight loss that I would have a hard or risky pregnancy, but no everything went really really well apart from being very tired at the beginning everything else was a breeze and I loved being pregnant every single moment all the way to the delivery which also went really well.  I delivered a beautiful baby girl weighing 7lbs.5oz, 21"long that we named Melodie.  She's a healthy, happy girl.

That's it for now as duty calls... (baby waking up) :-)

« 1 Year Post-Op » ... 158 lbs lost

*** 158 pounds lost ***

I feel great, life is good, now if I could just get under 200 pounds ::: GRrrrrrrr!!!! :::: these are like the hardest 2 lbs to loose, i've been bouncing between 200 and 203 for like the last month!
But seriously even if I don't loose another pound I am totally satisfied with how I look and feel.

Ciao!

« 9 Months Post-Op » ... 143 lbs lost

*** 143 pounds lost ***

I'm at 217 lbs and very-very HAPPY with the results!
I've been very busy lately with going to work a couple of days a week, and working out at the gym at least 3 days a week for about 2 hours (45 minutes cardio and 1 hour  to 1hour and 15 minutes of weight machines).

And also planning my wedding on July 7th which is coming up real soon and I still have a gazillion things to do!!!
Picked up my boyfriend's wedding ring yesterday and it's beautiful! Very happy with the results, 2 diamonds and a saphire in the middle to match my ring of diamonds and saphires.
Now if I could just make up my mind on the wedding cake!  I want it be perfect and it's making me very indecisive... on the flavour or the design... yeshhh... no matter what I have to have it picked by tomorrow!
Gotta go for now!
Ciao!

My Story

Born in Montréal, Québec of Polish descent (this will explain a little for the english spelling & grammar mistakes I make as I studied in french), I am 33 years old, weigh 360lbs and 5'-8" tall.  I have spent most of my life being overweight, my highest weight being 368lbs. In the last 2 years I have seen my health deteriorate dramatically, High blood pressure, Edema, Depression, Acid reflux. I also have PCOS and a touch of anemia, so in all I take 9 pills a day plus recently started taking a multi vitamin a day.  This is incredible if you consider that 2 years ago I didn't take any medication at all !!!

I've done the Weight Watchers thing twice !!! and lost the 1st time some 70lbs then gained it all back and some, 2nd time wasn't as serious and didn't lose as much and gained it back not long after.

I've been with my boyfriend for a little over 6 years, he's not only my boyfriend but also my best friend and he is absolutely wonderful, we're so great together that it's SCARY !!!

I am a GIRL TOTALLY IN
