some big girls are walking around with their eyes closed to other thing and views!!!
i frequent a website called imvu and i joined a group bbw and bbw lovers. one day the topic came up about weight loss so i chimed in on the what i am going to have done. now keep in mine i was not trying to recruit any of them to the WLS way of thinking only to share MY journey and the other methods i have used in the past aka diets(and there were alot). OK here is a lil of what was said......
ME: OK i know how hard it is first hand i have been dieting on and off for 15 of my 30 yrs and i can tell u it gets no easier as u get older. I am at the point in my life were things have got to change so i decided like 3 months ago to get gastric bypass (yes i know what so will say its the easy way out and oh its so dangerous etc ...)i have to think about my children. **** yes lil goal are the best goals. when u reach them u are so pumped for the next on next thing u know u are were u wanna be. Best of luck to u!
THEM: hey gastric bypass is no easy solution by any means. its a surgery and with all surgeries there's risk for complications. I wish the best for you and great success with your surgery, I know how tough it can be. I had two aunts get bypass surgery one was a success and one was not.
ME: i look at gastric bypass as a tool and not a solution plz i am not one of those ppl i mean it is so very hard for me when i never feel like im full. this will not be my first surgery i have had three c-section not a walk in the park either. ty for ur support though, i have been pondering this for like three year now doing research talkin with doctors going to seminars and now that my knees are bad and my terrible 2yr is all over the place something must be done.
THEM: Due to all my weight loss(without surgery) I now have to see a plastic surgeon to have him remove whats left of my tummy, lol. I know I wont look like I did before I had four kids, maybe I'll look better.
(As Yall May Know I Have Had 5 Children BTW)
ME: Ty PDP Well i have been dieting for the past three months and i lost only three lbs then i gained one back and just found out i have sleep apnea which they tell me doesn't help the weight lose thing one bit. can u say biggest waist of the past 90 that i will never get back. i give all the props to those who can lose with out surgery and don't gain much back u are truly bless.
THEM: I've always wanted to get the adjustable band done, but I'm scared. I fear that if I loose too much weight reapidly I'll end up with excess skin. (That one was bad but just a lead in)
ME: well my doctor said that if u have been big for a wile u will have excess skin to some degree. but i do think that the lap band is a awesome option i mean gastric bypass to me is for ppl with extreme health issues and the quick weight lose will quickly take them from life morbid to a long life.
THEM: Thing is, its not rapid loss, its only about 1kg(2.2lbs) a week in most women, and sure, my skin isn't as taut as it used to be, but i don't have flaps of skin sagging around my ankles either.. but then after having a child, breastfeeding and being in my 30's i don't expect to have the skin of a 20 year old. Thing is, if you tone up a bit, gain a little muscle bulk, it takes up some of the skin too. I think the only thing I would have fixed after reaching my goal weight is to have a boob lift.. and that's mostly from being a mum and breastfeeding anyways.
I agree that the old fashioned way is a pain in the butt. I like exercising, and I can easily reduce my calorie intake. The problem for me was that I have so many metabolic problems, and had gained so much weight that my body wouldn't burn enough calories to lose, even with 1.5 hours of the gym every day of the week and eating 1000 Calories a day. Over 6 months of this I only lost 6kg (13lbs). So, I went and spoke to my doctors and they agreed it was time to try something else.

Don't get me me wrong i understand were they are coming from but it seemed to me that some didn't understand were i was coming from.

this whole thing is making me frustrated and i am not sure what to do talk some more or just leave the group.

would yall leave the group?
would yall continue to respond?
or
would yall start yall own group for WLS ppl?

went to see the PCP 2day
on July 23, 2009 9:54 am
i got my referrals to get my EKG cause my PCP's was down (that so sucks). I got my blood work that my surgeon wanted 2day. also i got a re feral for a chest x ray. drum roll plz............................... i am also a diabetic not a big surprise cause like three  weeks ago i woke up with a bad headache and i had had it the nite before and my cousin said she gets headaches like the one i described when her sugar was up. so i went and took my sugar (yes i have had a sugar meter for months now and knew in my heart that i had sugar but i digress) it said 224 like omg so she gave me one of her pills for lowering sugar and just like that it worked well not instantly but I'll say a half an hour later. OK but here is the kicker they aren't going to give me anything for it being as though i will be having surgery pretty soon.

oh a lil update

i have had my cpap machine for like two weeks and some change now and i think i am sleeping worse now. it just the  mask i wake up to adjust it in the middle of the nite and i am still so sleepy during the day. so i am going to call the study center and see if i can get the nasal cushions maybe that will be better for me.

Pt.2 to just a lil update
on June 25, 2009 12:31 pm
ok so Tues i went and meet my surgeon Dr. Trang he was so cool since i missed my first appt. and the other doctor was booked till mid July i went with him and i am so happy i did he was so nice and broke the info down but not dumb it down wich i like alot. he told me all i need is some blood work, a chest x ray and a EKG since i had a sleep study done already that was one less thing i had to do. i am so excited about that but the only thing that troubles me is the $300. i mean i'm trying to get some cash from welfare and i have a disability case pending to come up with the money but god know how long that can take. well i have my fingers crossed. i have to go to the social security office this Friday to give them my work history and such. crossing my fingers for that too.

My Story

I really don't know what to say but i always thought i was born fat i will die fat. I went to high school quickly found out how truly curel teenager are. So i tried to loose some weight with the help of the director of science in my high school who was also dieting at the time it was cool i lost about 20lbs. grew up and again quickly found out that adults are as cruel as the teens (those are the apples that don't fall that far from the tree). I have been going through life tryin to fit in a world were i stand out. I have come to the realization that i will never fit in to the world of today i can fix me and mybe the world will follow.
