30 pounds down as of Saturday 9/22/12....  This Wednesday will make 4 weeks post op.  I have found out the hard way a few times ...food that does NOT agree with me..... but other than that I am feeling GREAT!!!!  people are starting to comment at work  "your shrinking away" .... "its melting off".   usually followed by them eating a "4 piece chicken and fries" in the breakroom in front of me.  lol.  Needless to say I have been eating at my desk a lot.....

Hope everyone is doing great!!!!!

Feeling great!!!!!  Surgery went well..... had a few complications with blood loss...... but am overjoyed and excited to see what lies ahead.  I won't lie... food still smells great- and I almost cried when at the movies this weekend with my older sister.  "Movie popcorn" was one of my most favorite foods!! I MISS IT  (uuugh)......

Starting soft foods today.... and am looking forward to never eating Cream of Wheat again....lol...hahahahahahahaha

Best of luck to all .....

My Story

My story...... hmmmmm

I have left this box blank for weeks...not sure what I define as my story.  I am a single mother of two....Jordan 17 and Chelsie 15.  I have been parenting them "alone' for 12 years now after a nasty divorce.  I had a very athletic background (cheer leader, gymnast, softball etc.) ...but seems like after child bearing, the weight began to pile up.  I am only 5ft 2"....shorty for sure!!  I just finished 7 years straight of schooling, and now have a Bachelors in Psychology, and a Master's Degree in Counseling.  I can literally say I "ate my way" through that last degree.  Between full-time work and school...and 2 teen agers.... whooooooooa I "stress" ate!

I developed sleep apnea (2002) , am pre-diabetic, and have had high blood pressure (as of 10/11) for almost a year now..  I am currently taking meds for both and have used a c-pap to sleep with since 2002.  I have a close college friend that began looking in to WLS in April.  We have a similar health history (minus the sleep apnea).  Long story short, I had contemplated the WLS in 2002, but was mentally at a very unhealthy stage in my life, and did not go through with it.

I was approved for Roux-en-Y bypass surgery, and will go under on 8/29/12.  I am extremely nervous, but have a complete FAITH in my maker, and know all things are possible through him  (Philippians 4:13).

Thanks for listening....and best of luck to all on this journey!!!

Best-
Joanne  (jo jo)
