Surgeon Testimonial

Matthew A. Fitzer
My first impression of Dr. Fitzer was he has a contagious smile, and has a way of making you feel very comfortable in his presence. I've never met a doctor that I truly thought cared about "me" as a person and with my health concerns as a whole. My impressions of Dr. Fitzer have only gained more respect from me over the time that I've known him. The office staff is ok, always nice when you call. There is nothing about Dr. Fitzer that I don't like. He is a outstanding doctor, and a really nice person. OH DOES HE EVER emphasize on after care! He makes sure that you know what to do when you leave that hospital! He has a very structured after care program, I can see why he is so to the point of following his directions. He did address the risks of surgery, but my health conditions would've casused worse. I would rate Dr. Fitzer a 10! He has it all a great bedside manner and a great surgeon!

1 week post-op
So it's been one long week since my surgery, I'm feeling really good! I'm down 10 lbs since my surgery! I'm still not smoking! I'm really looking forward to adding new foods to my diet.. The pure liquid days are behind me.. now I can have yogart! Whoo hoo!! :) I don't feel hungry so I don't know why I care what I can and can't eat! I think it must be a mental thing because my family can eat whatever they want and I can't. I started feeling weak yesterday and I figured out that I must keep drinking non-stop or I feel like I'm light headed. Once I started drinking again I started feeling normal. Hopefully this week flys by..

FIRST WEEK OF RECOVERY
on May 9, 2008 5:27 am
It's been 4 days since my surgery and 1 week without solid food!( yeah it really stinks) I came home from the hospital on Wednesday and still very wiped out! It's really hard coming home and everyone in the house is able to eat a "normal" diet and I'm still on my strict diet! I've also gone 5 days without smoking!! I NEVER thought that would happen! Only because Dr. Fitzer scared me to death and Chantix! Eventually I would  end up with lung cancer. Other than no solid food and no smoking I feel really great! It still hurts to laugh..I'm going to do my weekly weigh in's on Modays the date of my surgery. Today is my birthday and I'm not happy about being another year older, but I'm happy about the year coming forward. I'm really looking forward to getting into shape and being healthy! I can't wait to donate my old clothing and feel comfortable in the way I dress again. I'm so done with the cotton stretch pants!
