Surgeon Testimonial

Ramon Rivera M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Rivera at the seminar was he was your average text book dr. When I met with him in the office he was the opposite. He spent a while with me explaining things and answering my questions.
Dr. Rivera smiles a lot and for me that makes me feel a lot more comfortable with him, not like some dr's who have an expressionless face. That makes a big difference in my book.

Finally!
on August 15, 2008 11:58 am
The wow moments are happening. It took 3 mos. but my co-workers are noticing my weight loss. I've only told a few people I had wls so I've been telling people I've been walking a lot and eating less, which is the truth lol. I'm starting to get stares from the guys too. I even  got flowers at work this week from a "secret admirer". That would not have happened pre-wls. Today is a I LOVE MY RNY! day....

Officially In Twoterville!
on July 31, 2008 11:00 am
Finally! I went for my 3 mo post-op. I was in the 280's. It hasn't been an easy journey. This last week I have been having some stomach and chest pains.  One minute I'm hot the next I'm cold. When will it end?

Happy 4th Of July!
on July 4, 2008 7:57 pm
It rained at the fireworks last night and tonight.   I've got my fix of them for the next year. Today was a so-so day. I had a few moments of regret. I guess it will be hard around the holidays for a while.  Right now I'm feeling nauseated.  My sister has been dealing with stomach cramping again for the last week.  She will see the Dr on Tuesday. It's days like this I say to myself what was I thinking.

Mini Wow Moment!
on June 26, 2008 9:28 am

Even though I've lost about 40lbs no one at work has really noticed, until yesterday that is. One of my bosses was walking behind me and said I was shrinking. YES! She's one of only 3 people I told about the surgery at work but at least she noticed. Finally after all the work some recognition from someone other than my fam.  My daughter Maya graduated 6th grade today. I'm really getting old. That graduation seemed like it would never end.

Happy Birthday To Me!
on June 23, 2008 12:26 pm
Today is June 23, my birthday and 2 month surgiversary. I'm 33 years of old age now. I'm just getting over strep throat which was not fun. Besides that and a few other post-surgery issues the last month has been a lot better than the 1st. I still have not vomitted or had foamies. I bought a few new outfits last week. I'm trying to not to do too much of that since my sis is going to pass hers down to me. Now I have to clean my closet out and get rid of my ugly granny clothes lol. I never thought the day would come. Thank God For RNY!
