Surgeon Testimonial

Ronald H. Clements
I saw Dr. Clements at my second support group meeting. Then again at my first appointment. He seems very nice. His staff has been very helpful with anything I need to know. I have been told he is one of the best in Alabama, I sure hope so! He get's an A+ so far! At a year and a half out I am at goal and very happy. This surgery is a very good tool, and your success depends on if you do what Dr. Clements tells you. He is a very good Dr. I thank God every day for being able to have this surgery and pray that my body stays strong and healthy. Since surgery I no longer have diabetes or acid reflux. I feel wonderful!

7 years post op August 31st 2011

Well I am 7 years out. I have gained a little. After 7 years it is easy to fall back into old bad habits. I still want to lose 10lbs. I have been trying hard to get in my protein and not snack. I just have to remember the golden rule. Gastric Bypass is a tool, not a miracle. If I do what I am supposed to do I am fine. If anyone has any questions just message me.

6 years after Gastric Bypass Surgery.
January 22, 2011 3:59 am
I am over 6 years out now. I stay around 135 pounds. I would like to stay around 125. My mind still feels like I am overweight. It is hard to change that. It is a struggle to do the things I know I need to do. It is very easy to slip back into those very bad habits. But I am doing ok, just taking it one day at a time. Please if you are considering GBP know that it is not a miracle thing. It is just a tool and you have to use it right. It is a very good tool. But if you don't do what you are supposed to do then it can be a very bad thing.

I went to Dr. Clements today for my 16 month checkup. (Drumroll Please) I weigh 118!!! I have lost 102 lbs.(WOW) The nurse thought I was there for a hernia or something. She said she thought I was too little to have had Gastric Bypass. Dr. Clements said he didn't know what else he could do for me. He said I have done great. I showed him my Before and After pictures and he want's copies of them. He told me to always remember that the best thing that has come out of this is that my diabetes is gone. (Thank God) I had the usual blood work and will know about it in a week or so. He said I should start leveling off and staying around this weight. I have had such great results and am so happy. I just hope to maintain this weight now.
