My Story

Hello,
 I had LapBand surgery performed six (6) years ago by a wonderful doctor named Julio Teixiera. I work at Montefiore Hospital in The Bronx and Dr. T did the surgery there. He now works for St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, NY. The staff there is great! The program at Montefiore is now run by a host of equally exceptional doctors. I can happily say that I have no regrets about my decision to get The Lap Band. I was originally 329 lbs. and dropped to 294lbs. before surgery on my own. I now weigh between 180-190 lbs. I have lost about a total of 140 lbs! I am 5'11 so I look less than my actual weight. People say, I should model..LOL. This is a great experience and after 6 years into this, I am an expert at this. Many people have followed my example by referring family and friends (to me)...even strangers ask me about it! Well, see my pictures and they will tell their own story. Happy Banding!!!

UPDATE!!! 
               March 6, 2007 I had an Abodminal Plasty (OUCH!!)...I am now one (1) year post op and doing well and looking good I may add. LOL. I went back to School this year (2008) and guess what? I am now a Surgical Technologist and work in the Operating room (OR)...LOL, I love it! Now, I can help people even further!
