I am 6 weeks post-op and I am doing great!!  I am pretty much eating what I want.  Very small portions.  I haven't had milk or bread yet.  I have lost a total of 58 lbs and 22 since surgery.  My next visit with Dr. Dutta is next Friday.  I have cleaned out my closet to bare bones.  I am into a size 16.  I haven't seen that size in a long time!!  My son is getting married in July.  I am hoping to be at goal by the wedding or at least by my birthday on the 30th of July.  If I go by the doctor's goal I just have 47 to go.  Wow!!  That is unbelievable.  I went and got a new hairdo the other day.  It reminds me of how I wore my hair when I was younger.  My future DIL says it makes me look younger.  That is my goal!!  DH is so happy with my progress so far.  We can't wait to go camping and hiking this Spring.
I am now 2 months out and I am doing great!!  Dr. Dutta told me I could have anythng I feel my stomach can tolerate.  I have eaten a half sandwich on toasted whole grain bread.  I eat a tiny bit of pasta and rice.  My diet is pretty normal right now.  I have not eaten any sugar to speak of.  I had a tiny sliver of a sugar free razzleberry pie frm Marie Calendars.  I am loving life,  and able to eat fairly normally.  I am not hungry and I am able to eat most things, Just very small portions.  I have lost a total of 65 lbs, 30 since the surgery in December.  My wt loss seems kind of slow, but as a light weight, I am fine with that.  I am into a size 16 jean,(very loose)

My Story

I began the process of WLS in mid March 06. I received my approval letter on June 17. I am now waiting for a call to schedule an Orientation mtg. I was a very active child/teen. I gained a lot of weight with 2 pregnancies, while my husband was away in the Navy. Food became my comfort and my friend when I was so lonely and alone. I developed habits that were never part of my life previously, Overeating to compensate for lonliness and no activity to speak of. Here I am now nearly 36 yrs later and a thousand pounds lost and regained, searching for my life back. I now have four grandsons and I am waiting for a granddaughter from my baby boy who is still in college at this time. (He's not married yet)
I love to knit and to read and do all sorts of crafts. I am a christian and believe fervently in prayer.
I am so looking forward to meeting some of you out there. I live in Modesto and would welcome a pal or two. Most of my close friends live out of state. I love this site and lurk every day and sometimes respond to others. I get a lot of info and encouragement from everyone. Thanks, Denise--On Angel Wings

Just an update, since I finally figured this out,(puter challenged) Anyway, I had my surgeon's consult on Thursday and I am so stoked!!
Dr. Chu will be my surgeon and I was really impressed with her. I told her I wanted to have the surgery in Oct and she said okay, just need to get the remaining wt off. I have lost a total of 15 lbs. I have 8 lbs to lose to get my psych eval set up and 5 more from there to get the surgery scheduled. I have been working out regularly, water aerobics and walking too. I feel so much better and I am not hungry at all. I have to say I am pretty surprised. I am becoming more confident that I can accomplich this in the time I have. Dr. Chu is leaving in Dec for maternity leave, so that is quite a motivation. I don't want to have to wait until she gets back. I know...I can do all thing in Christ who gives me strength!!TTFN
