Wow - what a year! Well to give you a quick update I had my surgery 10/18/07 so it has been 1 year a 2 days. I have lost exactly 100 pounds and now weigh 156. I have had no problems since December (See the post below for those problems!) I met a guy, we dated and were engaged. But due to some issues I broke off the engagement. Never would I have imagined that my life would have changed so much. I have grown and gained self confidence that I never knew I could! I am very blessed and happy!

Well it has been 5 1/2 months since my surgery and I am doing GREAT!!! I have lost a total of 82 pounds and I am down to a 12/14....but mostly 12's! (It just depends on how the pants are cut!) My losing has slowed but that is to be expected and I am ok with my weight now! I will go in for my 6 month check up in a couple of weeks! I have not had any more problems since December and am healthy as a horse! I have started dating the guy you see in my picture. He is WONDERFUL!!! Life is just great!

So I was supposed to have 2 Christmas parties to go to. (One on the 14th and one on the 15th.) I had the PERFECT dress! I was able to make it to the one on the 14th. It was a lot of fun and I looked INCREDIBLE!!! (One of my co-workers told me so!)  But....I woke up the morning of the 15th in EXTREME pain and collapsed outside my bedroom. Luckly I live with my parents. (They were so nice to finish the attic into my own little apartment type thing!) I started slamming my hand on the floor and calling for them. My mom rushed me to the ER in what we first thought was an ovarian cyst and then kidney stones. After about 8 hours, lots of Delotted (sp?), a CT scan, and pain that would not go away I was diagnosed with a small bowel obstruction and internal hernia. I was then transferred to my hospital where I had my RNY and Dr Williams did emergency surgery Saturday night the 15th. I would like to say that is the end of the story but it is not. I was kept till Tuesday because my liver enzymes would not go down. I had a MRCP and HydaScan which came back negative. Dr. Williams called in a GI specialist who recommended that my gallbladder come out. So...last Thursday I had outpatient surgery to remove my gallbladder. 2 surgeries in 5 days! On top of that when they were pulling me out of anesthesia both time my heart rate was erratic and my breathing could not be controlled! 

What a week!!!!! I have been in more pain from the gallbladder than from my RNY! I am just glad it is all over and hopefully wont have any more problems! (Knock on wood!!!!)

I have two Christmas parties to attend this weekend. Both of which are pretty dressy events. So shopping had to be done! I found my shoes several weeks ago! (Mootsie Tootsies Red Satin Peep Toe Pumps...GORGEOUS!) So the hunt was on for the perfect little black dress to go with them! My mom and I went to Macy's at Lenox here in GA. They have a HUGE plus size department. We picked up several dresses for me to try on. Now I have lost 40 lbs since surgery. I tried on a size 20...all were to big! (Yay!) We narrowed it down to two dresses...one was an 18 and the other a 16. THE 16 FIT!!!!!!! I cried right there in the dressing room!!!!! I cannot believe I am wearing a 16!

Yesterday, 11/12/07, was my 3 week post op check up. And officially I have lost 27 lbs!!! Yes thats right in 3 weeks I lost twenty seven pounds!!!! Janet and Dr. Williams were both excited for me! I think Dr. Williams comment was that he would have been happy with 15 but apparently I wanted to be the poster child! HA!!!! YEAH!!!!! 

Then top that excitement off...this morning I tried on a size smaller pants and they fit perfectly!!! The feeling is indescribable! I am so excited, happy, and proud of myself! It was so well worth the surgery!!!
