Surgeon Testimonial

David Oliak M.D.
Dr. Oliak is my surgeon. What can I say? He is a very kind and knowledgeable surgeon. I absolutely love Dr. Oliak. He was very warm, gentle and made me feel so comfortable. And I'm sure somewhere he bares the nickname of \"golden hands\". He performs magic with his hands. I HIGHLY recommend him. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give him an 11+. He was very patient with me and spent about an hour going over my history, explaining everything that I would encounter and hopefully not encounter, and making sure that all of my questions were answered. His bedside manner was excellent and he took his time with explaining everything in detail. He made sure that my medical history was covered thoroughly and that I have had all of my pre-op clearances.

Celia, Your big day is almost here! Are you excited? Nervous? A little scared? If you are, that is normal. You are about to embark on the journey of a lifetime, a real life saver. The surgery works if you live the new lifestyle. Follow your surgeon’s orders and watch the pounds melt away. I am so happy for you! That said, I am sending positive vibes for you to have an uneventful surgery and a speedy pain free recovery. There is a seat on the “Loser’s Bench” with your name on it. Sheryl

I had my surgery on10/22/07 at 12: 20 pm

I was so excited for my new life start.  I was no nervous at all.  They took me to the surgery room  to began the surgery.   Everything went so well. They took me to the recovery room.  But it was 7:30pm and I was still asleep.  So, I had everyone watching me,  and after 6 hours anesthesiologist and doctor realize that I was sleeping and have no problems with the anesthesia, (such as a long good nap, ha,ha.)    But anyways, they took me to intensive care unit.  I started walking at 10:00pm and 1:00 am.  I never felt any single pain.    Do not believe people sugesting there is a lot of pain involved after surgery.  Depends on each person, I felt no sore, no nothing.     Well, next day, they sent me to normal room, on that day I experience the famous dumping symptom, they gave me the wrong food with sugar.  At this point, I did feel  sick and I started sweating like crazy.  A little mistake made by the hospital.   Anyways, I was released from hospital four days later.  I have been feeling excellent. I had not felt any kind of pain or discomfort.  Thanks God, I started loosing lot of weight.  I have lost 23 lbs in two weeks.   I want to share the pictures that I took at hospital with my dad and husband.
