It's been three weeks since my attempt at wls failed. I have taken this time to really think about why this could happen again.
I also had my post-op appointment with the surgeon. He explained to me his reason for not completing the surgery for the second time, said it was to risky and my life is more inportant .
( He is correct my life is more important, and I can respect him for making the choice to back out, but do I believe him HELL NO! because he knew six months prior when he attempted the surgery.)
WIll I seek another opnion NO! I am mentally drained.
I have come to the realization that maybe wls isn't the way for me to acheive my goal.
I know this is going to be along process, and have made my mind up that I will not let this weight defeat me.

Pre-Op Testing
on July 15, 2008 6:20 pm

Somebody should have told me that I  needed to take a bag lunch to Pre-Op testing. It took 5 hours to complete my blood work, ekg, chest x-ray, speak with the Bariatric Coordinator who had to take my measurments again!! explain everything I can and couldn't  do for the rest of my life.....
BUT guess what I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! because it gets me one step closer to having my surgery on July 25th.

My Story

WOW  how do I begin my story. I am a forty year old mother of two boys 21, and 17. I have been married since I was 17. I have been the mother to many, I am a foster mother. For the past 23 years I have always made sure that everyone life was in order. Had to solve everyones problem, never noticing that my life (weight) needed fixing. That was always my excuse not to do something about it, because I was always doing for others.
My heaviest weight has been 225 dont seem like a lot to some but if your 5'0" its a whole lot.
4 years ago I followed the diet of a friend that had wls I went from 225to 155 Yeah baby!! that didn't last I am now 220 so much for that bright idea.
My journey for the wls has been very short I found a doctor in December of last year, was on the table January 25, 2008 but due to an infection my doctor had to back out before completing the surgery. Now six months to the date I will be on the table again hopefully this time everything will go ok.

Thats part of my story....will continue soon
