Surgeon Testimonial

Antonio Coirin, M.D.
When I first met Dr. Coirin, I thought he was good at what he does. He made me feel comfortable. He even answered all the silly questions my sister was hounding him with. I still think that he is good at what he does. He explained everything. He has both, surgical competence and a great bedside manner. The office and the hospital have a great structured program.

I am married to a wonderful supportive man and have such great support from family and friends. I am a RN and I did work in a emergency room until 2 months ago... now I work in a surgery center. What a big difference. I take lots of pictures and I like to scrapbook. I like to read and shop. I am a little nervous since the day is coming so soon..... but I know this is going to save my life and I am such a compliant patient. I am concerned about having a g-tube, since I wear a cpap. I really dont like the idea of a foley cath..... but I guess Ill do whatever it takes.... so, far I am very impressed with this whole program... it took a while, and I felt like the ball was dropped a couple of times, but now we are on track.... lets go!

Ok, it's Aug 14th 2005, and I am post op 5 weeks. I am down 41lbs and I feel great. I have now went back to work and even picked up extra shifts. The first 2 weeks were crazy and I wondered why I did this to my self. Now, I have more variety, I am soooo much better. Thank God for yogurt! I have a f/u appt tomorrow. Hope everyone is well.

Now it is Sept 16th 2005, I just over 2 months post op. I am down 67 lbs. Funky things are happening though. I still have lots of energy(at least more than I had before). I have skin everywhere and red spots. Everything else is great. My two good friends had the same surgery 5 days ago. They will know my agony, fears and triumphs! YEA! I'm still very thankful for yogurt.

ok... the holidays are over and it is now Jan 2, 2006.... I feel good except for all the hormonal changes that no one has told me about. I really didnt expect this..... but I guess with all the weight loss it was bound to happen. I have just been a little emotional (just a little). I am still so happy that I have had the surgery. My husband had it in November and he is doing great also. My two friends, Kim and Sheila, are doing wonderful. I am getting all their hand me downs. My most prized is the red leather coat that was too big for sheila so now I have it. I cant say that I am sad that she had to give it up. I did HAVE to buy a matching purse and pair of gloves. I have cleaned out my closet several times. I have found people at work that need clothes. Well, I hope all is well with everyone!

ok now it is March 20, 2006, 1st day of spring....yeah! I am feeling good (except for allergies). I am still getting wonderful hand-me-downs... I am buying little things here and there.... I actually had to buy a new bra.... my husband and friends are doing well also. So, here is my weight scale and then I will post some pictures soon....did i mention that I am now down to a size 18 and some 16's it feels great to have clothes that fit right and are cute and fasionable. went to new york last november and bought a pair of apple bottom jeans....love em love em.... when i reach my goal weight i will have to have some plastics done, but no worry! my wedding band is too big and i am scared to have it sized. i guess i should look at it as a good thing. just hope everyone is well. i still believe that this surgery has saved my life. i still try to follow the rules of the bariactric hand book but i do make my little mistakes... but i am still taking one day at a time.

how funny that i didnt put a picture of my husband and i but i posted a picture of my friend's husband and i. hahahaha! I just thought that I looked thinner for the first time in this picture. So, that is Kevin Bixel, by the way.... PA extrodinaire.... and one funny mother @*&^%$...... so he should feel extra special now. Anyway, I am still losing about a pound a week, and I am very happy with that. Meanwhile, my hubby has lost 74lbs....wooo hooo.... we are one healthy couple!
