Surgeon Testimonial

Keith B. Boone M.D.
My first impression with Dr Keith Boone was that he is informative, and very professional. He has great bedside manners. He made my husband feel very assured that I will be taken care of. His office staff was great. All phone calls were returned and they kept me informed throughout the process. The office has a great aftercare program. While I was in the hospital "Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital", I had a psychologist and a nutritionist come in and explain the support that was available after care and what my diet would consist of. Also they explained what my first week would be like. They emphasized that aftercare and support groups are essential for success. He made me well aware of the risks of surgery and what I would have to do to make myself have a good outcome. I would rate him overall a 10. Excellent , competent, overall a great experience.

Struggling with my old food habits
on September 9, 2011 2:32 pm
Just wondering if anyone else is having a hard time with food. Meaning the way I use to eat before surgery was just about anything. And now days it seems like I am having a constant fight with my brain on what I should eat and what SHOULDNT EAT!!  I still WANT all the bad foods, even 18 months post-op. I still want to turn to food when I am stressed, bored, depressed, upset, happy or just about anything. Why is this such a struggle? I haven't gained weight but I do feel its a matter of time before I start to gain weight. uuuggghhh...so frustrating!

My Story

I thought of having gastric bypass for sometime but lacked the courage to do anything about it. I guess I was afraid of failing another plan to lose weight. I tried every diet out there, I tried every pill for weight losss. I was so tired of not living a life but just existing that I had no other option. I made an appt to attend a WLS seminar at the Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital. It was the best decision I ever made. I had my surgery March 12, 2010, I was 263 lbs...wow How did this happen?? I was getting bigger every day. Anyway, Today Feb 15th, 2011 I weight in at a 141 lbs. 11 months later I lost 122 lbs!! I was in a size 26, not Im in a size 4-6!! AMAZING!!!  I found myself again, now I can LIVE life! I feel great! Life is GOOD!!!
