My Story

My name is April. I am 27 years old. Married to a great man and soldier. We have 3 beautiful kids. Shayne(5), Hayden(3), and Essence(19 months).

I started at 245 pounds. I am 5 ft 4. I was so over weight and unhappy. I learned thru a friend that at the hospital here on the army post did gastric bypass surgeries. So I started my journey. I started April 15th this year and had my surgery July 30, 2008. I had the Lap Rny done. It has been the best decision I could have made for myself and my family.

Since the surgery I have lost 83 pounds. I am now down to 162 pounds and i feel amazing!! It has not always been the best of days but they are worth every minute of feeling miserable lol. I started in a size 18/20 pants and I am now down to a size 9. Its such a great feeling being able to go into any store I want and I can pick stuff up off the rack and don't have to try things on!!

We are getting ready to pcs to West Point, Ny. I am currently trying to find a support group that will help me along the way. Down here at Fort Gordon, Ga I am in a great support group!!
