Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

8 months out and still feel great
on August 18, 2008 7:40 am

Yesterday my surgery had its 8 month anniversary and I lost a total of 113 lbs, reached my first goal just right on Friday 15 th August, what is to be under 70 kilos ( 154 lbs).

I would do it again in a minute; I fit in size 6 jeans (before: 22/24) and in Small shirts or 8 jackets! I love it!

7 months post-OP, 105 lbs gone - just 19 lbs to go for the goal
on July 18, 2008 9:14 pm

This week it was my 7th month anniversary for my RNY-surgery. I have lost a total of 105 lbs and just 19 lbs more to go for the goal. I decided to go further as my first goal I set was 154 lbs (just 7,5 lbs more to go), I want  to try to reach 143, what would also mean a normal BMI. I reached already alot more than my doc said before, he thought it will be a success to go down to 198. Well today I have 161 lbs and feel great. I used to be a size 22/24, now I am down to 8. Instead of 3 XL, I can wear Medium. Even my shoesize changed.

People of course react, especially when they havenīt seen me for a long time. I still have some lbs to go and more and more often I hear "stop loosing". When I tell them I want to go for another 19 lbs, they donīt understand. The only thing I want is a normal BMI!

My Story

Hi everybody!

I was overweight since the age of 11, I think. I tried numbers of diets, was successfull with loosing and puting on back a lot more of weight. During pregnancy I put on almost 80 lbs more and tried hard to loose them again. In the beginning I was successfull with Weight Watchers, but I couldnīt go there anymore and put on all weight again.

Last Summer (2007) I decided to fight against my weight. Made appointment at the doc and finaly had surgery Dec. 17th. Since Summer I lost a total of 61 lbs and feel great. It was the best decision I ever made. I am just angry about myself that I didnīt do surgery a lot sooner.

I started at a BMI of 45 and am now down at 35 after less than 3 months out of surgery.
