Hiya all... Kelly here! :) Thank you to all who sent messages and prayers! They were all well appreciated! ...Well, it's just over two weeks since I had the DS surgery (Gastric Reduction with Duodenal Switch), and I'm feeling even better than I anticipated! I'm happy to report that at one week out I had already lost 17lbs. I really feel I am one of the lucky ones, since getting in enough water and food has not been a problem for me. (sip, sip, sip!) ...except not liking the flavor of water, that is! (Fixed that with a dollop of crystal light... not enough to make it sweet, but enough to not taste like *water*, LOL). I know I should be walking more... but the heat is so awful!! A couple afternoons I have found myself wishing I'd had the surgery in the winter! LOL! Not that I would have waited a single day longer, after all the time I'd already wasted (trying to get the blasted insurance to pay). But finally I am "on the other side", and I can see a life ahead of me. A real, honest-to-goodness life! I am no longer going to be the stay-at-home, do-little gal. Each day, I am able to do a little more, so I am going to be out there, doing the things I've been dreaming of and putting off. Watch out world, here I come!! :)

This is Kelly's sis. She had her duodenal switch surgery this morning and is doing well. She'll be in the hospital until Sunday and then in the hotel up there for 4-5 days. She looks forward to sharing more with you when she can.
