I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your upcoming surgery. Take a deep breath, try to relax. Know that we all care about you and are wishing you the best. Think positive, it really does help. After surgery, REMEMBER, turn, cough, take deep breaths, and walk to prevent complications. Hold your incision when you cough, it helps it hurt less. Keep your profile updated, it may make a difference in the live of someone else. Smile, keep your chin up! And lastly, if your chin does fall, just remember, from this position it is easier to moon people! :) (Also, humor helps too!)

Randy. I just came across your page from the message boards and your wife's comments regarding your recovery. As a DS patient myself, I know that this can be a crucial time in your recovery, but it sounds like you are doing a great job. I hope your family has a great time at Disney next year!!! Happy losing!

Randy, Switch Brother!! I know you have be feeling a bit nervous. But you have picked the RIGHT SURGERY! I had the DS over a year ago and am now within 40 lbs of goal. You will lose so much weight... Disney world is going to be AWESOME! And you are making a great choice (YOUR HEALTH) for your kids. You are going to be amazed how much this surgery even effects your parenting. I feel like I'm such a better mom now with so much more energy. Hang on to your hat! It's a bumpy first few weeks...but once you hit that 2 month milestone...everything gets better! CONGRATUALTIONS! I'll be thining of you and sending lots of prayers and white light your way.

Randy, I am so happy for you!! My roommate actually told me last night that your surgery date got moved up to Monday and I just wanted to tell you that you are going to do great! I weighed 525 the day of my surgery, and now, almost 15 months later, I weigh 298 pounds... You will do amazing! Just think of all the fun you are going to have with your family on your vacation in January!!! :) Congratulations again, and let us know how your progress goes when you get home! Hugs, Kathy (DS 3/29/03)
