Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~JudyAnne~

Well, today the scale read 154.  That means that I am now in the normal range for BMI!!!!  I am NORMAL....woohoo.  Well, at least with my weight.
I have 10 lbs to go to my doc's goal.  I really don't think that is going to be enough.  I've got quite a bit on my mid section that I still need to lose.
Wouldn't change a thing about the surgery.  It has all gone so wonderfully smooth.  Am having a few problems at home with the husband, but won't bore anyone with that.
More to come...

The scale read 160 today!  That means a weight loss of 120 lbs in 6.5 months...woohoo!
I am 6 pounds from having a normal BMI and 16 lbs from my doctor's goal weight.  I am so excited.
I go see the doc in one week and hope I can lose 2 or 3 more lbs before I see him.  My scale runs a little lower than his and I'll be clothed when I get weighed there.  I want his scale to read at least 160.  Keep your fingers crossed for me that it will read 160 at my appointment.

Well I went to Wal Mart last week to look at dress pants.  My 14's are just getting too big.   Well I grabbed a pair of 10's to try on.  I put them on and they were a little snug in the waist, but wearable.  Well I glanced at the tag and realized that the hanger was wrong and they were actually size 8!!!!!!!  I was so flipping out.  My 5 year old daughter was in there with me and i looked at her and said these are size 8's!  She said, so...haha, if only she knew!!!!
Things are still going wonderful for me.  I am going through some weird things in my mind.  I still see myself as 280 lbs instead of 167 lbs.  I have read that this is common-maybe it is, but I did not think it would happen to me.  I have always reaped confidence even at my heaviest and now I seem less confident than I ever did before.  Weird, I know.
Still would do it again in a heart beat!!!
More to come....

My Story

I have been heavy all my life.  My mother is heavy too, but my dad is all of 135 lbs soaking wet.  We know whose genes I got!
It was always hard being overweight - I have a twin brother who is thin.  Right before entering high school my father gave me some words of wisdom - boys don't like fat girls.  He wasn't trying to be mean, just help me, but it really was insensitive.  In high school I was technically overweight, but liked the way I looked.  I wore a juniors 13.  After high school, I met my husband and the weight started coming on.  My wedding dress was a size 18.  I found out I was pregnant about 2 months after gettng married.  I had the mindset that I was pregnant and could eat anything I wanted.  I did and gained 60 lbs.  I also had gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension.  I was on bedrest at the end of my pregnancy and delivered 5 weeks early - she was healthy though!
In 2006 I went from 258 to 213 lbs in about 5 months.  I loved the way I looked.  Unfortunately I went off of the diet and gained it all back, plus some.  I am currently 278 lbs and miserable.  During the summer of 2007 I learned I had high blood pressure and that I am insulin resistant.  I decided that WLS was the best option for me and here I am today!!!!
