Surgeon Testimonial

Malcolm Robinson, M.D.
I first met Dr Robinson at the info session at Faulkner Hospital. He seemed very knowlegable. My first appointment with him one on one was very business like, but cordial. He was very nice in the hospital. His office staff is great. I would recommend him.

My Journey

May 2, 2008

Holy Moly!! It has been a long time since I wrote anything here. I am still doing wonderful! My weight is between 170-172.  I allow myself up to 5 pounds lee-way, but I start freaking out when I go to 172. I eat almost anything. I still can not have too much sugar, which is great. If I didn't have that dumping, I know I would struggle with my weight.
I am much more social than I was with all the weight on. It doesn't bother me to go into a room where I do not know anyone. My hubby and kids are fine.
I feel very blessed I was able to have this life changing surgery.

My Story

I am a 47 year old obese women. I am married 22 years, and have a 20 year old daughter, and a 19 year old son. I have been overweight since I was a child. I am tall, 5'10". I was always told as a youngster that I was "big boned". That was the reason I weighed over 200 lbs in the 7th grade! Big bones, my a$$. I was fat. Plain and Simple. My first weight loss was when I was in the 9th grade. I think I kept the weight off for a total of one week! I started gaining the weight back almost instantly. My high school years were not pleasant, to say the least. I did not have a boyfriend, nor did I have a date for the senior prom. My next significant weight loss was when I was a junior/senior in college. I kept that weight off for about 4 or 5 years. I met my husband during this time, and was actually quite thin when I got married. I had 2 babies in 3 years, and starting gaining my weight back. My third and final weight loss was about 10 years ago. In the last 5 years or so, the needle on the scale has been going up and up.

I decided to have WLS after seeing my cousin Mimi go through the journey, and being very successful with it. My best friend's sister in law also has had WLS( come to find out, we have the same surgeon!!) and she is doing great also!! I already have a date for the surgery 9/27/06. I am waiting for insurance to approve, but I do not think there will be a problem.

I am looking forward to this "fantastic voyage". I have the love and support of my husband, my children, sister, and loving Mother.
