Isaias Irgau, M.D.
My doctor is a soft spoken man and always has a smile. He wants to help you in anyway he can to make things go smoothly through my process. The staff members are very helpful and nice. He makes you realize that this is a life long change and the exercise and watching your food portions are very important for ever. We go to group classes to help one another through any questions we may have. He suggest that we do this. When he explained to me the risks he made me feel very confident of him. Over all I would rate my Doctor very high because he is a people person and a very caring one. He has children and a wife and he has their pictures for everyone to see in his office. So to me that shows he cares for his family and for me. He is one of the best Doctor's on the East Coast and he was well reccommended to me.rnrnrnrn

Rescheduled next appointment for May 11

I rescheduled my next appointment for May 11. Starting to ger somewhat hungry and with the discussions with others I realize that I am ready for a fill. I am thinking positive on this now after going to the Lap Band Class and listening to other about their experiences. They had a lot of positive feed back and some negative but the majority was all good.

I went to see Dr. Irgau and I only lost 2 lbs! I saw a different Doctor because he was so backed up and  I figured it would be fine.  My total weight loss is 17 pounds. I said to the Doctor what happened and she said it happens after 3-4 weeks and not to worry. So I am keeping a positive outlook and have my next appointment in a month. She said if I feel hungry before then to call and get an appointment to come sooner. Well I will see what happens, but for know I feel better and have been working out and loving it! Until the next time!

My First Appointment after my Surgery

Well I had my 2 week appointment today after my surgery and I lost 15.4 lbs!!!! I had to wait just about 2 hours to see Dr Irgau but I forgot the time once I found out how much I lost. What a great feeling! I called my friend Lucy to give her the news and she also had her appointment a week prior and she lost 13 lbs! Good job Lucy.

My Story

My story starts back in October 2006. I went to see Dr. Irgau about getting the lab band and he explained everything to me and told me that I was a candidate for the procedure. I was so excited and then I learned that I would have to get another Doctor because he might be dropping out of my Insurance Network in December. I was so upset that my dream was over. I then found that if I found another Doctor who dealt with another Hospital that I could go to that I could still get it done. I wasn't happy with that thought. It was a much longer ride to the hospital and I just didn't feel comfortable with that. Than a friend of mine told me back in late Novemeber that he was going to stay with my provider and I headed back to him and told his staff once more, "What steps dod I need to take?" I was on the road once more and confident.  I hadn't told anyone yet in my family until I had all the details and once I did they were happy for me and as long as I would be okay with the surgery.

I have been on a diet my whole life. I grew up with a faimly of a total of 9 brothers and sisteres. I also came from a Italian family. Lots of pasta all the time and Italian bread! Atleast 3/4 of my family are over weight but I could live with this anymore. My weight is well distributed through my entire body so when you look at me you would say you are not that bad. I refused to believe others and sought out Dr. Irgau's help. He is the best and starting 3/28/07 my new life will begin!

My Husband and my Son and 3 Stepchildren all backed me up and this gave me such support to know that I was not alone and they would back me up!  Well all the Doctor's I had to see and the classes I had to take are over for know and I went and had the procedure and all went well. I have made some friends along the way and it is great to have the bonding because we all share the same expierences and we are there for one another. Whether it be lap-banding or the gastric by-pass we all stick together. That is so great to know people care.

Well as of 3/28/07 I had my procedure and had no problems. I am on the road to a healthier and a happier me!

My family can already see the difference and are so happy for me and I want to look so good when my son graduates from College because I plan to throw him a big party!

Never give up on your self and never stop caring!
