Getting the first phone call

So I got my first phone call today from Humber River. They wanted to set up my orientation session. I have no clue what to expect and even though I have watched endless youtube videos, read and even asked I am definately going to have my own process to deal with. This is crazy. I thought about having this surgery for so long and waiting doesn't really make it real. I  need to now fill out questionnaires and attend my first session so it's really going to happen. It's long and tedious but reading all of the entries makes me feel like I'm making the right choice. :)

My Story

Hi everyone,
My name is Rosie. I am 26 years old and live in the Markham-Stouffville area. I had never really thought about getting gastric bypass surgery before, food is a way of life for me being Italian and all and being chubby just cmae with the territory. My co-worker had the surgery and I couldn't believe how amazing she looked. The best part about it was that she hadn't taken her diabetes medication since her surgery. Being a type 2 diabetic, diagnosed around 2 years ago, and my whole family pretty much diabetics I knew I had to do something. I was over weight, my medication was being uped every time I saw my doctor, my blood pressure was high and my joints, back  and feet started killing me all the time. I decided that enough was enough and asked for a referral. I cannot wait to be healthy and happy and live a long life no matter how hard the journey will be.
