feeling better
on December 2, 2011 8:18 pm
So I am two weeks out from having my gallbladder removed, and I finally feel back among the living. That recover y was worse than from RNY. It hurt for longer, too. The good news is I slid past the 50lb mark sometime last week. I stayed off the scale because it is upstairs and it hurt to walk up the stairs.

As of this morning, I am down 56 lbs. This is my lowest weight since before I got pregnant with my daughter, who is now 7. Yippee! I put on a pair of size 18 pants this morning. No lying on the bed sucking my gut in for dear life.

WLS is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

so close to fifty
on November 21, 2011 6:04 pm
I am thisclose to 50 pounds gone for good. I am at -48.5 right now. I just had my gallbladder removed Friday, so now I have a Frankenbelly with my lovely staples and about five pounds of bloating to go with it. Thank goodness I still have some baggy pants. Cannot wait to hit that 50lb mark. I can bend over and tie my shoes without my face feeling like it is going to explode. I only have one and half chins now. I can fasten my bra behind me without getting out of breath! And the best part is now I am only MO, not super MO. Yay!

7 weeks and 39.5 lbs gone
on October 30, 2011 11:36 am
So I am pretty happy with that weight loss. I'm still having some hormone craziness, so I could do without that crap.

I actually crossed my legs and I can drive without my gut rubbing the steering wheel. yay

My gallbladder has crapped out, which is disappointing because now I am out of PTO at work and I am NOT looking forward to telling my boss I will need more time off work to get the dumb thing out. The nausea and pain aren't a picnic either. I wish my surgeon was one who just took the damned thing out during surgery.

Happy Halloween, everyone.

time flies

Day 24: down 26.5 pounds. Hooray! Tomorrow I take my measurements for inches, so we'll see. Presurgery clothes are now unflatteringly baggy. Down one size and the next is still a little snug.

Now that I am on soft food, it seems hard to get enough protein. I am going to try some Chike and see if that helps.
Product review: Siggi's Skyr    Skyr is an Icelandic yogurt. I don't have the stats in front of me now, but the protein is good and the sugar is low. So I tried the Orange and Ginger. Hmm. It's not bad. The flavor is very mild. I think it is perfect for just starting to eat again but I don't think I will buy that flavor again. I can't taste the orange at all and the ginger is barely there.

NSV: it is easier to move around now. I actually put on my shoes without a) standing up and fumbling my foot in the shoe or b) grabbing the cuff of my pantleg and dragging my foot up to the opposite knee. New goal: see toes without propping feet up!

6 days and -14 lbs post op
on September 18, 2011 5:09 pm
As you can see from the title, I am six days and -14lbs post op. I had an RNY on 9/12/11. This is the most excited I have ever been about weight loss. I am ecstatic that I have finally had my surgery. It was a long road from making the decision to being wheeled into the recovery room.

I just discovered this great site. It's terrific to have a community of people who are all on the same journey. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

HA! I am still on the liquid diet and just got asked what's for dinner. Protein shakes all around. Not the answer they were hoping for.
