Surgeon Testimonial

Stephen McKenna
My first impression of Dr. McKenna was that he actually cares for his patients and wants them to succeed. Even since my RNY, he is still a big part of my journey, and is there with me every step of the way. His office staff are very helpful and compassionate. Dr. McKenna loves to give hugs and treats you like family. I would rate Dr. McKenna a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best. In my opinion sugical competence and bedside manner equally great.

Update - 6/5/09
on June 6, 2009 12:07 am

Well, I must say this journey has been a lot harder then I ever imagined it would be.  I have questioned myself many times this past month about whether or not my decision to have surgery was a good one.  However, even with all the difficulties I have had so far, I would do it again.  Having my gall bladder removed only 3 weeks after my RNY has been quite painful.  I am in more pain from it then I was for the RNY.  It must be due to the fact that I had 2 major surgeries only 3 weeks apart from each other.  Anyway, I am losing weight and happy about it.  As of today, my weight is 2 lbs. less then it was 3 years ago.  I'm so happy about that! I go for my 1 month post op on tuesday, and I will hopefully have another 10 lbs. gone.

I'm still having a hard time finding a job, and I'm so stressed about my car cause I'm now a payment behind.  All I can do is pray that God will provide me with what Hunter and I need.

I will update again on tuesday, and this time I will post pics from day of surgery and one month post op.
