Surgeon Testimonial

Brian Gluck, D.O.
Dr. Gluck is wonderful. He is down to earth, compassionate, and honest. I think he has a wonderful group of ladies that work with him. The whole team is very nice. Once you walk in, you feel like you are part of the family. From what I know right now, the family doesn't go away after surgery. They expect you to follow up with them quite often right after surgery then yearly. They want to guide you down the right road and make sure you stay on track. That is a huge benefit, it is a gift from them to you, to help you stay on track. rnrnrn

One week out
on December 21, 2009 6:44 am
I had surgery one week ago on December 14th. My pre-surgery diet is the same as I am eating now. It is liquid only, with lots of protein shakes, cream soups, pudding, jello, water, crystal light.... It was hard before surgery, because I was hungry, but now after surgery it's a little difficult because I'm not hungry. My doctor makes it a law that I have to consume 64 ounces of fluid daily. I just use my water bottle as my measuring cup... it holds 22 ounces, I might fill it with water, or crystal light, or sugar free kool-aid, or tea, then sip sip sip! Just keep on sipping!
I have not had any nausea or vomitting at all since surgery. knock on wood. The only pain I had was my left shoulder ached and burned whenever I stood up. It was a nasty pain but I would still do my daily walks. That lovely pain was gone as soon as my drain was removed yesterday. Thank God. I feel alot better without that drain. I even went shopping for an hour! I feel very good! I have already lost 10lbs.

Well, surgery was on Monday, I  came home on Wednesday. I am doing really well. I just had my drain removed today, thank GOD!!!! I was having horrible pain in my left shoulder. It would only go away if I layed down. Within 90 seconds of me standing up, the pain was back. One of my friends advised that the pain is due to the drain rubbing on a nerve in my torso that shot up to my shoulder. I don't like that nerve anymore!
But the wonderful homecare nurse came out today and took the drain out. It was 18 inches inside me! It felt kinda like a tickle/bite when she pulled it out, but it was amazing. I feel soooooo much better now. I went to town today and walked around for a half hour with my mom. My incisions are healing so fast. The steri-strips are starting to fall off. Everything looks good.
Well I am planning on having my first post-op appointment on Monday, so we'll see how that goes. Thank you all for your prayers!

Tomorrow's the day that will begin my new life!

Holy Cow! I am so nervous!!!! I am still excited, but wow, that nervousness has kicked in for sure! I have my bag packed for the hospital. I spent all night downloading movies and music onto new Zune (early Christmas gift from my husband, thank you honey). I just drank my first cup of bowel prep, so this blog will be short! I just wanted everyone to know, sugery starts at 12Noon tomorrow, in case you have a moment for prayer. I appreciate it.

Have a wonderful week! I will be back online sometime soon hopefully! xoxox

I am on my liquid fast prior to surgery right now. Doing very well. I have lost 10 pounds this first week. I came home from work this afternoon to have lunch and I was told by my loving husband that there was a message for me on the answering machine. I hit play.... oh my gosh!!!!!! Talk about a day changing event!
Dr. Gluck's office called to let me know I can move my surgery up one week!!! So instead of the 21st, I am now going to have it this Monday, December 14th! Talk about a rush! I got it ok'd through my boss, got everything situated around the office, worked my hind end off, and now here I am. It's friday night. I have to get my things around tomorrow. Then sunday is my uckie "clean me out even more" day. Then that's it. Monday morning at 10AM I have to be at the hospital. 12Noon my surgery is scheduled for. HOLY COW!!!!!
