Only 4 days left to go! YIPEE

I can not believe the time is here already.....4 days until my surgery!  I have an incredible support group from my family to my friends and I am so thankful.  I am down 5 lbs since I started my liquid diet last Monday.  I wonder if that sounds about right to lose in 7 days.  I know this weight will come off 1 lb at a time so I am just grateful for the 5 lbs!

I am hoping I will only be in the hospital for 2 days and home for the weekend.

3rd day on liquid diet...only 8 more days left to go

Well, I am on day 3 of my liquid diet.....many say today would be the hard day for me but it wasn't!  Thank God :)
I have lost 2 lbs in 3 days....pretty good I have to say.  It is not as difficult as I thought it would be to have to cook for my family but not consume the food.  I have the will power to do this and do it right so I can have my surgery next Thursday.  I am so excited it's unbearable.  Moving on to day 4 tomorrow....praying that God helps me to stay strong!

Life is all about changes......

I had my appointment again with Dr. Ringley to "talk" about which surgery would be the best for me.  I didn't want the lapband and he didn't want me to do the Roux en Y because of the stress it would put on my body and also the vitamin deffeciencies since I already have that problem due to Multiple Sclerosis.  So, we came to the conclusion that the Sleeve would give me what I wanted and he feels safe about allowing me to have it done.  So there, I have my surgery date, and feel 100% confident that I have made the right decision for me.  I am sooooo excited to know that this is all coming together!  Current weight is 221.6.

I have a surgery date

Well, I have never blogged before in my life.....but I am going to on this new journey.  I have been going thru the process of getting all my testing done and jumping through the loopholes with my insurance.  I finally have a surgery date schedu
led for Feb 16, 2012.  The only problem is now which surgery am I going to go with.  I want to have the Roux en Y, but my surgeon wants me to only do the band because of the fact I have Multiple Sclerosis.  My neurologist doesn't want me to have either since they can't get my MS under control.  I am at the heaviest weight I have ever been in my life (219 lbs).  I didn't even weigh this much with any of my 3 pregnancies!  I am going back on Monday to have another meeting with my surgeon to discuss the type of surgery that would best suit me.  Since there is hardly any info out there of MS patients having bariatric surgery and the followup care they received ( being referred to as to whether they had more or less MS attacks) is the reason my surgeon is leary of the gastric bypass.  I have 41 days to my surgery either way and I can't wait to begin to start it!
