I finally had surgery. September 15th 2010. I had some inflimation, almost an infection, and spent 6 days in the hospital. BUT now I am doing great. I have lost a total of 38 pounds in 3 weeks. I am off the blood pressure meds and my face looks loads thinner. I like my DS pretty good!

I have never "blogged" before so this is new to me. Just wanted to keep all my friends updated. I have been waiting 1 year 3 and 1/2 months on LCRH to get it's COE so I could have the Duodenal Switch with Dr Husted. Thursday afternoon I got a call from a very good friend who said that she had heard that Dr Husted was NOT going to be doing the DS at LCRH anymore. So of course I called the Bariatric Center and they were very "professional" with me, which was NOT the norm. They always treated me like a friend NOT a customer. Not this time. I was then directed to Dr Husted's office. Of course there was no answer there.

Of course I have always had a plan B. No one ever thinks they will have to use their plan B, but guess what! Yep I was on the phone calling Dr Inman in IN. Too late they were closed for the day. I had a very LONG night with little sleep. FIRST thing Friday morning I called Dr Inman's office again. To my surprise they answered the phone right away, already a good sign to me,lol. I talked to the lady there and she says they will take my insurance so wonderful.

Let me just say SO FAR SO GOOD! I have a consult date on March 4th. I will have several test that day also. She says then it will go to insurance for approval. Once approved I will receive a DATE. WOW that is freakin awesome. I have waited so long for just a freakin date.

Next step, I drive to Dr Husted's office to get a copy of all my paperwork. Carol who is always so nice, had no problem coping my paperwork for me. Then I decided to ask if Dr Husted was leaving. She instantly says NO we're not going anywhere. I proceeded to tell her that I had also heard that he would no longer be doing the DS in Somerset and that all his surgeries had been cancelled. Just as I finish saying this Dr Husted rushes into the room, in MY OPINION, to see who is asking all of this. I, very bubbly, say hello. For the first time in over a year the man said nothing. NOT even a wave. I know what that says to me! Anyway, Carol denies all these alligations. Me, MY OPINION, I DO NOT believer her. If she is telling the truth,and for many of my friends I pray she is, then fine, but it no longer concerns me.

I will be going to Dr Margaret Inman from this point on. So PLEASE, wish me luck. After this last year I need it. For the first time I feel like this is really gonna happen for me. So if you pray, say a prayer for me, if you dont swing something. Thanks to my 3 main girls I have bugged these last couple of days, you know who you are. Love you guys!
