I feel your pain Scott, lived with hernias for 16 years and had them repaired twice, facing 3rd and hopefully last in a month. I've been in the extreme pain part many times and know it is HORRID, so I feel for you!! I hope your surgery goes well and it is the only one you have to have for these beasts!!! I call mine my alien bitches (I have 5 or 6 this time too) and can't wait to be rid of them!!! My sympathy is with you big time and prayers are with you too! May your recovery be swift and easy. Take care and God bless, Becky

December 2009

Wow where the heck did this year go?

I have not updated on here in a while and figured it was about time.  I am now about 18months post op.  I am down right around 245 lbs..  I would do this again in a heartbeat if I had too..

This year sure went fast.  I finally got to see my folks for the first time after losing all of the weight.  What a shock when i walked into their house a day early and they just sat there for several minutes trying to figure out what to say..

I have decided to go back to college, just finished up my first term.  I am taking a program for a health unit cordinator at the local community college, then once this is done in april, i will continue with my pre requs for the nursing program.

I hope you all have a great Holliday season and a Great New Years.  Keep up the hard work.

Scott

6 Months Post op
on December 26, 2008 6:41 am
Well what a ride this has been..  I can't believe it has been six months from surgery already. I started this journey at almost 375lbs and as of today I am down 180lbs.  As many of you know I lost my job with the travel agency last June, and switched surgens after my approval so I could have my surgery before my cobra kicked in.  Dr. S rocks, if I had to do this all over I would do it in a new york minute.

I was just offered a job last week so 2009 is going to start off great.  I am with in a few pounds of my ideal goal weight that I have set for myself.  Part of me is greatfull that i have been out of work the last part of the year so I could focus on my health and getting my weight off.  I am spending 1.5-2.0 hours 5 or 6 days a week at the gym.  I know I have lost my weight really fast but the gym has played a big part of this.

If I can be any help to anyone please contact me.  Everyone keep up the great work you are all doing.

Scott

Have a great and Happy New Years
