I'm 28 years old. I live just outside Philadelphia in Pennsylvania with my husband and three sons. I was married June 22, 2006. I have three sons who are 8, 5, and 1. I received my Masters degree in November of 2007.

I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I have tried every imaginable way to lose weight and always manage to gain it back and then some. I'm at my all time highest weight and am starting to see the effects it is having on my health and my life.

I'm tired of being short of breath walking 20 feet. I'm tired of not being able to play with my children. I'm tired of avoiding society for fear of scorn. I'm ready to take control of my life and my health.

A date, finally!

I got a call from Eileen at Barix yesterday. They have set my PATs for January 17th. My surgery date is February 6. The turmoil of emotions I am going through right now was rather unexpected. I am so excited and pleased yet nervous all at the same time.

Pre-Approval Letter

I got my pre-approval letter for the surgery yesterday.
Keystone approved!!!!!

Sleep Study Consult

I had my consultation with the sleep specialist yesterday. He agrees with Dr. Marymor in regards to my possibly having sleep apnea. I hope that I don't. I go for my first night of sleep study on the 14th and the second night if needed will be the 21st.
My cardiology consult is next week.
I also got an email stating that Barix had sent a letter to my insurance requesting pre-authorization.

Initial Consultation w/ Dr. Marymor

I met with Dr. Marymor today. I have decided to proceed with the open g. I feel like this is the best choice for me to obtain the desired results. I'm looking forward to the beginning of this process.
I have to schedule all the pre-op testing appontments. I'm glad I'll only have to worry about getting a consult with a Cardiologist and having a sleep study done.
The first steps in a long journey are behind me!
