Surgeon Testimonial

Beth Ryder, M.D., F.A.C.S.
When I first met with Dr.Ryder she was very nice, caring and easy to talk to. She is very knowledgable and she takes the time to listen to what u have to say and she will take the time to answer ur questions. Considering the length of my surgery, Dr.Ryder was awesome and got things fixed and the outcome was good. She saw me a lot while I was in the hospital and I heard her aftercare is awesome also.rnrnrn Shannon

I have been heavy all my life and tried many diets throughout the years. I lost weight and regained it right back and then some. So I decided it was time to become more healthier and researched the gastric bypass sugery. I am a CNA on an orthopedic unit in a local hospital. I am married to a wonderful husband and have 3 cats. My husband is very supportive and wants me to be happy so he is here by my side every step of the way.

on September 27, 2007 4:16 pm
I have made it to my 1 yr surgiversary! yay! I am down 116 pounds now and 11 pounds away from onderland. I hope I can make it! I am determined to get under 200 pounds! I am finding I can eat a little more so I have to step back and measure my foods better. I have a lot more energy then I used to which is great. On a lighter note my husband and I just became licensed foster care parents. We just got our 1st child in the home and she is 7 yrs old. She is keeping me very busy at this moment!

Hey everyone! I am doing well and 107 pounds gone! Weight loss is very slow but still losing. For my doctors goal I need 20 more pounds gone and for  my goal is another 40 pounds. I will get there eventually. I have a lot more energy now than I have ever had. I can eat a little bit more depending on the food, I just have to watch portion control. I am almost nine months out and the only thing I am low on is my b12 vitamin, which I am supplementing for. Just wanted to give an update.

This month has been a little frustrating with the scale but got through it. I lost a total of 91 pounds so far and I am just a little over 5 months post op. I have a lot more energy and finding that i can eat a little nmore than I am used to so I have had to seriously journal everything I eat. I am excercising 4 days a week and it gets easier by the week. I have only 9 more pounds to lose so i can get my century card and I cannot wait.

Wow, it has been a month already since I have updated! Well to start off, I am down 84 pounds and feel good. My 4 month lab levels were good and my cholesterol is 114 down from 180. So I was quite pleased. I have noticed though that the weight loss is getting slower by the week. I am losing inches so i am doing something right! Mt doctor and everyone is very pleased with my progress. One side effect of the surgery is that i am cold all the time. I am almost to the century club!

Wow, it has been almost a month since I have updated. I amd now down 78 pounds and feeling pretty well for the most part. I go for my 4 month post op blood work next week, to make sure my levels are okay. I have been exercising a lot more lately which is great. I am able to keep more food down now and most of my liquids. One thing that feels great is watching my clothes sizes go down! Hope everyone had a great new year!
