A dapper looking gentleman who seemed very knowledgable and confident in his practice. He was very kind, compassionate, and reassured me that we were a family and that I could call on him anytime with any questions no matter how little or big. I felt confident that I found the right surgeon, since he took his time to explain the entire procedure and follow up care plan with me. Was highly impressed with his knowledge of the procedure and the amount of procedures he has performed. In pre-op he assured me that all was going to be well, and that in no time I'd be recovering and on my way to weight loss! He was a doll, and I couldn't of asked for anyone else to have performed this on me. His staff is amazing and very kind. Syosset Hospital is a gem and the local community is so lucky to have such a wonderful facility in their community!!!!

Well, here it goes.  I'm scheduled for a 1:45pm surgery.  WTF? I'm dying here with no water or brushing of the teeth!!! Eeek!!! Well, wish me luck!

Yeah, it's official!!!

Well, it's official!! I just had the surgeon's office call me saying approval has been received and I'm good to go for surgery on July 23rd!!! How freakin' exciting??? I am so happy I can cry!!!! This gives me a second chance on life.  I can one day be titrated off of my BP pills and perhaps get my blood sugar in line!!! I'm so happy!!! No more foot/back pain.....no more stress incontinence....I can't wait to see results!!! Watch out, world!!! Cuz a new healthier Shannon is well on her way!!!

OMG!!! I'm so psyched!!!

OMG! I just got off the phone with the ins co and they said it looks like I've been approved!!! I was a bit worried because as of yesterday they said it looked like I wasn't going to be approved!!! I'm so happy I could burst.  I just spoke with the lady from the ins co and she said it looks like the pending case number will also be my auth number and I got it right here!!! I'm so happy.  The ins co also said official word will go out to the surgeon's office today and I should be receiving an approval letter within the week!! Woo hoo!!!

Feeling a bit anxious....

I'm feeling a bit anxious and am a bit nervous because my surgeon's office has yet to hear anything back from my insurance company on my approval.  I pray to God that I have an approval this time.  I'm a bit anxious and am wondering if I should contact the insurance company directly about my approval? I just don't want to find out a day before my procedure again like last time.  It's not nearly enough time to call them up to fight for my surgery.  Any suggestions anyone?
