2/2510: I had my first consultation with Dr. Blaney today and I feel confident with my decision to have wls. I felt comfortable even though I'm not a big talker. I really like the fact that he discuss the good and bad of wls and how your eating and exercise affect the amount of weight you lose. What I liked more about his practice versus Dr. Duncan is that Dr. Blaney and his staff are more personable. I feel comfortable with that and knowing that the team at the center is so encouraging lets me know that I can do this. He also likes his patients to read this book call Weightless surgery For Dummies.
7/17/10 3 months post op..I still have no regrets waiting so glad I did.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I have struggle with my weight my entire Life. I began my first diet at the age of 9. I have used diet pills and diet to lose weight but it continues to return plus extra. My mom suggested I look into surgery awhile ago but I would always push the thought out of my mind but now I am to the point where I know I can not do this on my own anymore. I have struggled with depression which leads me to overeat and it is something that I am working on controlling. I live with individuals who are not supportive of my decision to have weight loss surgery but health is my only concern not their opinion.

Oh what a day..What a day!

My week has been bizarre. On Tuesday, I was hungry after leaving the gym and I only had $1.70 so I bought me a small fry, because I couldn't afford a salad so I ate that and went to class. Time I settled down in class, I felt horrible so I called my roomate to come pick me up from class. By the time she got to my school, she was out of gas and we had to sit for 2 and a half hours for my cousin to get off of work.. I am in the car totally sick thinking I might as well stayed in class. . The funny thing was the next day my roommate's boyfriend came knocking on our door saying that he was out of gas...lol.

Anyways, I went to my appointments today and on the way there, the van I was riding in had a flat tire...lol. Some luck huh?. Anyways, I saw the sleep doctor and I have to go have my sleep study done next friday. The psychologist was cool, she said that she has never fail a patient so hope her evaluation will be good and I had a pulmanarary appointment also but i forgot about that one and the doctor called me on my way home..oops, now I have to go back to Altanta next thursday for that. The price we pay for good health.  Keep me in your prayers. I still have not met my new PCP and he has rescheduled my appointment to June 25.

P.s. My roomates are getting on my neres. i have to move out of this place. I can't ake this anymore. My ATL friends, I am looking for a  affordable place to stay, I need suggestions if you have any, plz!

Just checking in, I started my summer semester and my gym rountine today. I did 15minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the eliptical. and 10 minutes weight training. I am waiting on my next class to start.

Happy Mommy's Day

I know I am late but happy mother's day to all you mommy's. I sent the weekend with my mom, grandma, grandma and auntie. It felt nice seeing them all sice I don't go home to often. My grandma cooked dinner for us. Love her much!

Today and Beyond!!

I got an email from my surgeon's office Dr. Duncan, I have been approved as one of his patients. yea. I told my roomate my good news and instead of her being happy for me, she said she hopes Medicaid will not approve my surgery. Such a rotten thing to say, so I told her this is my life and my decision and I am going through with it and I wouldn't have said such a thing to her. But like I said before the important people are supportive. I go to Atlanta on the 28 for some of my clearances and I still have to see my New PCP so, I am still working to get the proccess going... 
     On another note, I just took my last two finals for spring semester. My weather final had to be the hardest final I have ever taken in my life and it was just an Intro class. Praying that I pass that class, while on the other hand, my other final was one of the easiest I can rember. I am not worried about that one. So, I am on summmer break until May 20, and then I have a 4 week summer semester which I will miss the 28 for those clearance in Atlanta. I will be done with that on June 23 and July-10, I will be in Detroit at a convention so I am looking forward to my summer.
