Well, my surgery was just a week ago now, and what a week! Surgery went well, no complications. Although, the same can not be said for the days following. I always have a rough time with anesthesia and pain meds. Needless to say, I got to spend two extra days at the hospital cause I couldn't keep my fluids down and "the pipes" were slow to wake up.
However, got home friday and have been doing much better since. I stayed on clear liquids until saturday evening, and the got all crazy and advanced to Cream of wheat! Whew, big jump I know! Actually, I love the stuff and it was pretty tasty with cinnamon in it. Now, I have kept down protein shakes, and pureed chilli. I know it sounds terrible to have pureed chilli so soon, but it was tasty and we were out with my brother who flew in to see me! I was really greatful the resturant would be so willing to do that to my soup for me and the flavor was a wonderful and much needed change.
Now, "the pipes" have fully woken up and I am working my way off the pain meds. Feeling pretty good about everything at this point!
