Oh What a journey!
Sheila's Weight Loss Journey

Happy Easter OH.
on April 24, 2011 12:34 pm
I hope everyone has a wonderful and loving Easter.

My family and I are having a wonderful family tradition of a fish fry. Something my family has done for years in Oklahoma.  I am just carrying on the tradition here in Canada.

Love and hugs to all.

Still in Waiting Mode
on April 20, 2011 10:35 am
I am still waiting to hear from the surgeon's office to tell me when I am to go in for surgery.   I know they told me it could be up to four weeks or more but I have been so hoping it would be much sooner than that.

I am continuing to watch my pre-surgery diet but right now I am stalled at my current weight.

So, I do not have much to add only that I am praying every day for God to make it possible for my surgery to be soon.  I have placed all my fears and worry into his hands, and I know that when I am to go in and have surgery, I will be called.  And for that reason, I am trying extremely hard to be patient and wait.

Until next time.

What a great find.....
on April 5, 2011 6:50 pm
I went to the Low Carb store in Red Deer Alberta today.  I found Pork Rinds in a bag that is like microwave popcorn.  You put the Pork Rinds in the microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes and they puff up.  There is only 1 carb and are low in fat.  What a great snack.  It also has 10 grams of protein.  My husband is going to love these.

I had my pre-admissions visit today with my surgical nurse.  All went well and I am still on the short notice list.  She said it could be anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before I get the call.  I also needed to go and have a ECG and blood work done so I took care of that today after my appointment.  I didn't want anything standing in the way of me being ready for surgery.

I am not nervous about having surgery.  I am so ready and prepared that I am more anxious for the call.  I have been waiting for this for 3 to 4 years and I am so close, I am ready to start this new phase of my life.  I have prayed to God to show me the way that I must go to lose weight and this is what I was shown.  God has been good to me and graced me with the knowledge of what I much do in order to lose this weight and live a more fulfilled life.

Well, now I am waiting.  Hopefully when I write next I will have a date and well on my way to joining everyone on the losers bench.

When will it end...
on April 3, 2011 10:02 am
Here in Calgary, we just had a huge dump of snow.  I am talking 6 to 10 inches of snow. It is freaking APRIL, it is suppose to be Spring for gosh sake.  The only good thing about it, it gave me the opportunity to go out and get exercise by shoveling the snow off our front walk way.  A little surprise for hubby when he gets home.  He would have had to do it, but I wanted to get some extra exercise in so I did it.

I am looking forward to Tuesday, my pre-admissions clinic visit.   I have been having pains in my upper stomach and I wanted to ask the surgical nurse if this was where my hiatias hernia is and if she thinks things are getting worse with it.  I have had quite a bit of pain in the last couple of weeks.  Had to stay home from work on one day because of it.  Not fun.  But hey, if it will push my surgical  date up, I am okay with it.

I just received my sample pack from Unjury in the mail on Friday.    I tried the Strawberry Sorbert protein powder today, it was really good.

Well, that is about it for this entry.  I will report back after my clinic visit on Tuesday.
