Surgeon Testimonial

Aniceto Baltasar, M.D.
Dr. Baltasar is a great Doctor. He made me feel comfortable from the minute I met him. He is a very caring man who holds your hand until you fall asleep before surgery.

Hello, My name is Shellie Scott. I was 270lbs when I had my surgery in 2002. After surgery I lost 120lbs, however, I gained 20lbs back but I have kept off 100lbs for the last 6 years. I would like that 20lbs gone though. I have had a baby post-op. She is 4 years old and doing great.

I am glad I had surgery. I would do it all over again. I paid out off pocket with a loan from the bank. I am still making my payments of $210 a month, but it is so worth it.

I love playing with my kid's now. A few times I have been mistaken for my 15 1/2 year old daughters sister NOT mother. Now that is great. My feet do not hurt when I get out of bed in the morning and another wonderful "side effect" of WLS is my romantic life with my husband it's Wonderful!

My Story

I saw a doctor in my area, however I could not afford him. I am going to have surgery on July 12,2002 with Dr. Baltasar in Spain. I am going to have the lap DS.

BMI before surgery 46.8

July 2002
I had my lap/DS in Spain 13 days ago. Everything went well with surgery. When my drains were taken out I was in a lot of pain. The doctor sent me to the big hospital for tests and we found out fluid was left behind. I started antibiotics and I felt better soon. I am home now and feeling good. I have already lost 24 pounds.

July 2003
It has been just about a year since I had my surgery and I couldn't be happier. I have lost 100lbs. I could have lost more and I will, but right now I need to stay the weight I am. I am 4 months pregnant (with a girl). Without all that extra weight I feel great. My feet and back do not hurt like they use to. I also do a lot more and I go out a lot more.

I am feeling great. I have now lost 120lbs and have a healthy new born daughter. The end of the pregnancy was very hard and I spent a few weeks in the hospital, but everything turned out great. I am also breastfeeding. My baby is 3 months old growing well and has never had a bottle.

I am still feeling great and my post-op baby is now 2 years old. I have been at a stand still in my weight for about 2 years now. For weeks before I had my baby I could not eat so I was in the hospital on bedrest and they fed me with a PIC line. Within a few months after my baby was born I gained about 15lbs. That really upset me ,however, my doctor said I just regained lost muscle.
