Hello to all who have and who will take this journey to better health.
I'm here becauseI'm tired of being Tired.  After retiring from the Navy in 1996 due to being overweight, I have been struggling since to get back to a healthy weight, with less aches and pain. With the LORDS help I hope to see 50 years old looking as good as my mom look does and she is closing in on 65.

I had my check up with Dr. Jawad on Monday and I'm down to 202lbs. That's 90lbs. I have gone from a 26w down to a 14-16.  This is awesome I haven't been this small since the early 90's.
It seems weird to walk in a store and have so many choices in clothes.
My energy levels are great and my sugar is right at 100.

I'm headed to my 30th class reunion at the end of the month and though I'm not at my high school weight. I won't be the biggest person when I walk in.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while I guess after this wonderful miracle you get high on life and forget the small stuff that brought you to this website in the first place.
I want to thank all of my brothes and sisters who have been here to support me through this jouney that have spoken on this website. You have been a great inspiration and have made me realize how important this journey is.

I wish everyone who is getting ready to go through this journey the best of luck.  WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

Well had a great time on my cruise. Got back Thanksgiving day. I had no problems eating protien. It was a great way to try new foods without spending money to see if I could tolerate it. I was able to eat everything they brought to the table. My waiter thought I didn't like the food because I wasn't eating all of it. But let him know that I was on a diet and was very full. Learn the second night to not eat bread before the protien. I ate a small piece but it made me very uncomfortable later. Lots of burping in the stateroom. LOL.
I think I had a dumping incident I had eaten a bite of apple from the waldorf salad and a few other bites of food on my plate and I felt very stuffed and started getting the sweats and nauseaous. After about ten minutes I had a case of the foamies but no food came up. Felt much better.

This week I seem to be stuck at 45 lbs lost but I'm not worried because I know this is part of the process. I'm glad to be down this far. Will start back with my trainer tomorrow so that will give me a boost.
I look forward to emptying my closet. So I can buy new things. Look forward to the new year at a lower healthier weight.

Whoo hoo Had my first post op weigh in down 18 lbs. WOW. Getting back into the swing of things. Going back to work tomorrow. had a WOW moment, I sat up from the doctors bed with grabbing my stomach in pain. LOL.  Feeling great no maajor complications and I get my G-tube out the 10th of Nov. thats almost 2 wks before my cruise. THANK YOU. I should be on soft foods by then. Just rereading my NUT packet and it should be no problem getting the correct foods in while cruising.

THIS IS AWESOME.

On the loser's bench

Well I have made it home and everything is going well so far. I have a little pain around my g-tube but so far I have been able to tolerate everything on my liquid diet.  Just getting around is a little bit of a struggle. Thanks to all who sent up a prayer. Just getting my bearing.

Tomorrow at 7:00 am . I will start my journey on the losers bench. I look forward to being a normal weight again. This surgery gives me a brand new start. It's overwhelming when all of a sudden everything sarts going wrong with your body. Hopefully this surgery will give me a chance to delay the onset of some of the more serious problems that have starting creeping up on me.

I hope that everyone who has gone through this and about to go through this will have great success. My prayers are with you all.

Thanks for the support you have geiven me through this website.

See you on the losing side.

Shelly
