Approval & Date

Surgeon's office submitted paper work to Cigna on 7-29-08 and approved my procedure on 8-4-08. I wam totally in shock. I thought I would have to appeal.

Surgery date is 9-8-08. I am getting excited.

Will begin liquid diet the week of 8-25-08.


I finally can see the light @ the beginning of the tunnel.

I can now say that I have stopped smoking as of 4-1-08, with the help of Chantix, what a great drug. I feel so much better but, I have gained weight so instead of being 284; I now weight 306(yikes) It's okay because I am on my way to a healthier me.

My Story

I am 5'2''  currently weight 291 pounds. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember and I am ready to make a change in my life and I decided to  use the lap band as my tool. I have tried many ways to lose weight, but was always gain what I lost plus extra. I hope and I pray that this will be help that I need to finally conquer my weight. 

I have the support of my loving husband, my friends and my family.  I look forward to having the support of other bandsters who understand what this process and  help me on my weight loss journey.

I stopped smoking on 4-1-08-- yeah April Fool Day and I gained approx 27 pounds.
