Hi I'm Sherie a 50 year old female who has just made the decision to use my retirement money to have a gastric bypass. I'm excited to get on the road to a new me. I've been researching for two years and have decided to finally do this.
I do medical transcription out of my home. www.hummingfingers.com.

I'm feeling a little better today even though I had a rough night. Having a recliner to sleep in would have been better but I don't have one. Bill has been wonderful taking care of me.

One more day until my surgery and if I can get rid of this cold I'd feel much better about everything!

Today at 7:30 I had my postop upper GI series then at 10:00 I had my postop blood draw and EKG. Well the EKG came up abnormal so I had to go to Dr. Steinberg's office while Kathy found a cardiologist that would see me today too. I got a 3:00 fit in with Dr. Shu at Atlanta Heart Specialists and they were great. My heart function is normal but I still have to have a stress test tomorow or Monday whenever the insurance approves it. Except to stop for lunch we were (my husband Bill and I) in doctor's offices all day. To top that off I have a nasty cold but Dr. Shu gave me a Z-Pak so that will help the cold thank goodness. My surgery is still scheduled for September 9th.

My Story

I weigh 260 pounds and I'm 5'3" tall. I have hypertension, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnea, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety, GERD, hiatal hernia, and Attention Deficit Disorder. WLS is my only hope to get some of this under control. I'm tired of taking so many medications and paying for so many too!

I'm happily married for 9 years now. I was married before for 22 years. I have a 32 year old son, 31 year old stepson, a 29 year old stepson, a 16 month old grandson, and a 2 year old granddaughter. I have two dogs who are just like my babies. They keep me company every day. I do medical transcription from home. I worked for the Georgia Society of CPAs for 21 years before quiting to work from home. I have a 1997 red Z28 Camaro that has only 65,000 miles on it that I totally love. I love NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, scrapbooking, making jewelry (not very good at it yet but I'm learning), sewing, teddy bears, and flowers. I love coputers, there is not much I can't do with one. I can't wait until I can get the surgery done so I can go back to gardening my flowers again. My degenerative disc disease keeps me from doing most anything because of the back pain.
