My Story

Well hello!  I've read a few stories and I'm not much different than most of ya'll out there.  I'm 45 years old, single, and have been heavy all my life.  I had WLS on August 22, 2002 by the wonderful Dr. Kenneth McDonald (he was with the Brody School of Medicine/ECU in Greenville, NC at the time).  I'm 5'9" and my highest weight was 425 lbs, 395 lbs the day of sugery and my lowest has been 177 lbs, my goal is 160 lbs.  I've actually gained about 25 lbs this past 2 years - yikes!..  But I'm still in Onederland!!!  I've always been very active and never let my weight stop me from doing anything I wanted.  I love to sing and have done numerous musicals (most before WLS), a couple voice overs for commercials and now I'm happy singing 2 choirs.  I've always loved to dance, it's much more fun now!  :-)  Let's see... what else...  I'm a 911 dispatcher so I have to sit in front of the computer a lot (12 hour shifts, working nights right now)...  I have to figure out how to balance that with moving to loose, but I'm sure it'll all work out.  Everyone around me eats all the time here at work, so that's a challange...  UGH!  I kind of went through a crazy/carefree time in my life last year and did a lot of things I never thought I'd do, like para-gliding (I'm afraid of heights!), snorkling, went on a motorcycle ride (I found out that I'd rather haver matal all around me), oh and swimming in public in my bathing suit without a cover (whew!), I put my profile on an online dating service and dated a LOT of guys and then got struck with the love arrow, so now it's time to get back on track and stop being so reckless.  I've been dating a wonderful man for almost 2 years now (actually we just got engaged on New Years 2008, woo hoo!).   He's been wonderful and very supportive of everything I do.  Well I guess that's about it.  I'm just living life and trying to enjoy every aspect of it!  I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Try to keep positive and your chin up, LIFE IS GOOD!
