Hi Everyone,

Sorry that it has been so long since I checked in. Well today is 6 days since my surgery and I am doing well. The first few days were kinda hard becasue I questioned my own sanity in what I had done. Now I know that it was the right thing just as I had decided. I only spent two days in the hospital and it was a blur for the most part. 

Yesterday was a very exciting and busy day. I walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes although I was walking at 0.5 mph I did it . Then I took my very first shower, it felt so gooood. It was a little draining though but it felt better than washing in the sink.

So far the hardest thing is getting in all my liquids today, however I have taken in almost half of the required so far.

I went for my pre-op with the surgeon yesterday April 15th. It went well, my mother came with me. It was a real important step for both of us because she has not been for me having the surgery. I was given all my pre-op instructions and perscriptions. I am still nervous, but they keep saying it is normal. The upside is I weighed in at 299.5 so I have lost a few pounds. Well that is my update for now, I go to my pre-op class and pre-registration to the hospital on Tuesday. Will update you then.

This is my first entry to my blog.  I am 40 years 5 feet tall and I weigh 306 pounds. I started the process for my surgery in Dec. 2007. I recently was approved by my insurance company. The surgery date was set and I became very nervous, I even thought of backing out. After I calmed down and talked with my husband, and my doctor I found out that it was a normal reaction. I am once again excited that i will soon be back in control of my life after almost 20 years.
