Surgeon Testimonial

Catalin Copaescu M.D., Ph.D.
Dr Copaescu looks like a real professional, and so does his team.

The seminar organized about WLS was very very good, the preop testing and everything else excellent.

His experience so far is of about 1500 patients, which is quite a lot. All the patients I met so far in various stages are happy with the results

Back to the new world

It is the first time I log in after surgery. So I have a lot to catch up :). Let’s take them one at a time:
1. Surgery- it was very ok, as I understood the total surgery time was 1 hour and 15 minutes. They performed a colecistectomy (which is gallbladder removal) and a VSG. I woke up in the intensive care unit, with my mom and husband close by. What amazed me is the position in which they perform the surgery, which is half up, I would say at 70 degrees from the laying down position
2. ICU- I stayed there over the night and they took good care of me. What I can say is that felt a little nauseous at times, but it disappeared fast as I was on IV line all the tine, and they were taking very good care of us.
3. Hospitalization- second day after surgery they too k me back to the salon and asked me to get up and walk....it was ok, but still felt dizzy after 4 days of eating nothing than soup and water. Getting up was harder since the stitches hurt. Also it was the worse day, since I guess the general effect of anesthesia wear off and everything hurt a bit. But it was manageable and the second day they let me out. Conditions to be let out home: drink at least 100 ml of liquids, be able to walk and have the first poo
4. Days after- 3rd day after surgery was a little hard, since I had to drink on my own and couldn’t very well, and was also afraid not to drink too much and throw up....but in the next day was easier and easier..and so on.....I have used the special protein diet I bought for about 3 days. The rest unfortunately I cannot drink cause they have such a yak taste....I prefer my mother's soup and diet drinking yogurt.

The doctor insists that I should drink at least 1.5 l each day....so I am trying. Still on anticoagulant, which I make myself in the evening in my belly...lol..it was hard the first time, now I feel comfortable about pushing a needle in my own body.

Don’t know what can I tell you else. I have lost 7 kg's which is about 15 pounds, and haven’t lost weight in the last days. The doctor said don’t make a fixation on the scale, you will lose weight in time. Also he says in the first month the weight loss is due to losing liquids and proteins, so high concentration proteins are very good not to lose from the muscles.

I am very ok, 6th day after surgery I went shopping for 2 hours and Hard Rock cafe for another 2 in the evening. 7th day walked in the park and drove, and now I am very ok, can stay at the computer all day, but from time to time my belly contracts and  I feel I need to lay down for a while. Will stay home another week before going back to work.

Kisses....I am very happy I did this and cannot wait to see the results....
