Almost Three Months Gone!
on May 29, 2010 8:42 pm
Well, it's been three months almost.  I am down to 198 lbs.  I'm in a 14-16 right now.  It continues to be very exciting.  I have a lot of energy but continue to have a difficult time eating four times a day.

I have joined the gym and go at least every other day.  On Saturdays, I go to water aerobics class.  It's a lot of fun.  I am feeling a lot stronger.  I have also starting going to TaeKwonDo with my family. That was a major goal of mine in the begining.  It's a lot of fun, too.

The thing I love most right now is that fresh fruit is coming in.  I have been hitting up the farmer's market for strawberries,  blueberries, mango and pineapple.  That are so great in my protein shakes.  I put in a ton of ice and make them really thick.  I don't remember if I blogged this last time but I bought me a small ice cream maker.  It's really good for making frozen protein treats.

I'm still using Syntrax Nectars Protein: Chocolate Truffles, Vanilla Bean and Cappacino.  They are fantastic when mixed with fruit or SF syrups.

I've also been canning jam, jelly, pickles and relish.  I'm hoping to get a pressure cooker so that I can do some soups and chili.  The jams I have been make have been mostly made with Splenda.

I think that's about all for today.  I will try to check in more often but I'm so busy at the gym......~mo

Moving Right Along
on May 9, 2010 4:14 pm
Okay, so now I'm almost 9 weeks out.  I have lost a lot of weight!  I'm 6 pounds from the 100's.  I'm excited about that.

I joined the gym on April 27th.  I lost six pounds since then.  I've been going every other day.  I did a water aerobics class Saturday, it was my first aerobics class in 10 years.

My appt with Dr. Suh went well.  He was very understanding.  He ordered an upper GI and then went out of town.  So I won't get the results until Thursday.  He also told me to take two doses of milk of magnesia.  It totally worked!  I was able to eat again right away.

I purchased an ice cream maker (1.5 qt).  I have been using recipes from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com.  They are really good when I'm tired of the same old protein shakes.

Now I'm having some personal issues with all of the attention my husband is showing towards me.  I hope I can work it out soon.  I don't even understand why it bothers me but it does.~mo

Six Weeks
on April 29, 2010 9:36 am

I have had a really easy time until now.  I've been having pain in my pouch area every time I eat or drink.  It has gotten worse over the week.  I have an appt with Dr. Suh this afternoon.  I hope it's not serious.

I saw my primary dr yesterday.  He said that I look really happy and I honestly am!

I'm down 28 pounds since surgery and 48 over all.

Almost Five Weeks Out
on April 12, 2010 3:54 pm
Well, so far so good.

I have lost 21 pounds since surgery and 39 pounds total.

I was wearing a size 3x tops and now I'm in a Misses Large.  I was wearing a size 24 pants and now I'm in an 18.  Hooray!

Even my shoes are too big!

I'm keeping a close eye on my blood pressure because it is still kinda low.  I go back to my primary doctor next week.

Some post-op things I'm thankful for:
Magic Bullet - makes it very easy to mix up those protein shakes
Sno Cone Machine - I want everything ice cold!
Sugar Free Popsicles - the best!

My DH is out of town this week so we will see how I do.  The busier I get, the harder it is to keep track of and take in all of my fluids.  I think I will start grinding down more ice to mix with my SoBe and Vitamin Water.  I'm also starting to get tired of eating the same things over and over.  Once you cook something, it takes forever to eat it all.  It's not like you can just throw the chicken onto a salad.  Maybe I will try to make something like crabcakes with some left over chicken?

I'm thinking about my friend, who will be having surgery on Wednesday and wish her well.  I know she's going to do great.

Three Weeks Out
on March 30, 2010 7:59 pm
Three weeks out and I'm doing well.  I'm still following the instructions to the T.  My DH says he has never seen me follow dr instructions so well.

I'm down to 223 now.  I'm really surprised at how I'm losing the weight all over my body not just the hips and waist like so many times before.  I actually bought a few pieces of clothing from the "non-fluffy" department today.  I had to have a dress for Easter.  I'm hoping to get my camera hooked up so that I can download some recent pictures.

Last night I had a dream that I was at a buffet and was eating everything in sight and my pouch felt like it was going to burst!  That's a crazy dream and I guess it shows how much I miss food.

At this point I would say to pre-ops:
SF Popsicles are your friend!
SF flavored syrups are awesome and can hide the bitter taste of the worse protein drinks!
I love my Magic Bullet!

Sunday should be interesting.  We are going to an Easter brunch.  At least I can had some scrambled eggs.

My first and second WOW moments have happened.
1 - wearing clothes from the "non-fluffy" department
2 - my neighbor told me today that I look so different
