5 months out.
on April 14, 2008 7:09 am
Well yesterday was my 5 months out date. I am down 87# I know it would be alot more if we were not in the process of packing and getting ready to move in just 2 1/2 weeks.. I have not been on the computer hardly at all and I am seriously slacking on replying to my friends. But I will write back when we are moved and set up.   Things have been so hectic here I could not even begin to tell you LOL. I have been tryin to spend some time with my friends here before we leave and getting all that we need to done before hand. Its just not that easy LOL..  I dont get to exercise near as much as I should be but again that is something I will do when we get down to Fort Bragg NC. I plan to really step up the working out..  OK I am thrilled that I am wearing a size 18 in jeans from a 26-28 and I got myself some size lg shirts and they fit.. I have not worn these sizes in a long long time.. Like 14 yrs...  Hubby will be taking pics today and I will post them eventually..
Our net will be off soon so it might not be on for awhile with the move and all..
OK that is all for now LOL.. I have been so short on time...
Love to all...

My surgery experience :)
on November 23, 2007 9:57 am
I went into this surgery with very very little fear really.. I had already told hubby what I wanted and what if something happened etc.
Day of surgery Bill and I went into the hospital and I was calm and laughing with hubby. We were taken back to the pre-op room and I got into my gown, IV etc. Anesthesia came in and offered me something to relax with but I didnt feel I needed anything since I was laughing etc LOL.. Well they wheeled me back into OR and I was just chit-chatting with the nurses and next thing I know I am waking up. I had a bit of pain but they fixed that quick. I thought I was gonna throw up but they gave me drugs to stop that. All  was well there. We were on our way to my room in no time. Hubby met up with me in the hall outside the waiting room. I was back to my room around 4 (surgery at 1) Hubby had to leave to come home to the kids at around 6. I got up and walked a couple loops around the floor and went back to bed. Got to relax and sleep and try to watch a movie LOL. The next day hubby didnt get to come till 2 (thanks Army for letting my hubby come see me...) We walked around a while watched Shrek the third and he had to come home to the kids again. I walked a bunch more and went back to bed and watched a Lifetime movie :) Thursday  my surgeon came in and cleared me to go home, the nurse removed my drain tube and iv and let me shower etc till hubby got there around 1 (thanks again to the army for letting him come get me...)  We stopped at walmart to pick up a couple things I was gonna need I didnt already have. Got home and relaxed.  Felt so good to be home.. Its a week and 2 days since surgery and all is well. I stopped my pain meds around day 4-5 and  my incisions are looking real good. They are tender sometimes but usually fine.  Been walking around and drinking lots. I go to the DR on Monday I cant wait to see what I have lost already :D

My Story

10-29-07   Hi My name is Danielle. I am 31 years old married to my favorite US Soldier and have 5 kids. 4 boys and a little girl :) I have been heavy since I was 15 and went on birth control.  16 years and 5 kids later here I am at around 330 pounds. Not a fun weight at all.  While my husband was in Iraq I decided to go ahead with the Gastric Bypass Surgery. He totally supports me in my decision.  He came home just in time to get a date for my surgery :) Great timing.... My surgery is set for 11-13-07 at 1pm at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka Kansas.  I hope to loose 175-200 pounds. I am doing this for me. I am tired of being tired all the time and not being able to play with the kids. I do not have any medical conditions diagnosed due to the weight but I know there are some that are starting.  So this surgery is coming at a great time :) I am very motivated to loose this weight and get active. My husband and I are really wanting to go do lots of things with our kids. To go to the zoo or amusement parks and be able to keep up with it and not have to take rest breaks all the time. I am nervous and excited. Not scared at all though :) Im ready.
