Reminder to myself at 3 months out
Dear self,

You're three months out from surgery and man, it's been a wild ride! The first couple of weeks was incredibly hard due to nauseous and generally an un-well feeling. The tiredness after recovering from surgery was tough. Even though it seemed like it was taking forever to go by, the three months flew pretty quickly and you've lost 65lbs. 23% of your body weight! Half way to goal! Your old clothes drown you and you must go shopping soon! You can now cross your legs, shaving in the shower is so much easier, you have much more energy, your skin is clearer, and you've lost 9 inches in your waist alone!

Those are some great triumphs in so little time. The hard part right now is hunger... namely, you don't have any. Zero. Zilch. Making yourself eat on a schedule so you meet your minimum calories and protein SUCKS. Bet you never thought you'd have to force food down your throat, eh? Well, at least for now, you absolutely have to think of food as your medicine. If you don't take your medicine, you may be skinny, but you will not be healthy and that is the number one reason you chose to have an irreversible surgery.  You're still smoking? NOT GOOD. You'd better make that appointment with the hypnotherapist NOW. You know you felt much better not smoking for those two weeks prior to surgery. Smelled better, breathed better, no coughing, etc.

Make the appointment and quit smoking for good!!!!

You had a martini with hubby a few nights ago... and that lead to buying a bottle of vodka and making them at home the last few days. How do you feel? Sluggish? Tired? Headaches? How's the scale been reacting? Aaaahhh gain a pound, lose a pound then gain again, right?  DO YOU WONDER WHY?  No more martinis for you. That bottle is gone and you won't get another one because you know it's a problem and you reallllllly don't want a transfer addiction to alcohol. In 6 months you can have another martini. ONE. Uno. That's it. Enjoy it very sparsley and move on- there's much more important things in life than martinis!

You've come so far and you should be proud of yourself. Recommit to the next 3 months of taking your vitamins (you've done well with that!) eating your mandatory nutrition, staying away from alcohol, join the gym and start doing water aerobics and yoga so you can hike that trail in Kauai in September! Call and make an appt to get some help to quit smoking!

Take each day at a time and make it a success. If you slip, get right back up- DON'T LET SLIPPING BECOME A HABIT!

I love you,
Me
