Met my PCP

Jun 27, 2009

Well I went to my PCP on Friday and she couldn't get the paper work to Dr. Gens fast enough, she was so excited that I would consider this tool.  I was a little frightened at how happy she was.  My blood pressure was up a bit and she is
worried that it will continue to go up. It has me a bit concerned as well.  She was happy that I had lost 5lbs since March, but  to me it was nothing for all of the changes that I had made.   I guess I am rambling more for me than anything else.  Sam took pictures of me for my highest weight and then I  took some of him for his 2 week out he has lost so much and I am so scared that I won't be able to do it.  Anyways I have started down this road and I know it will be a better life for all of us!

Starting for me

Jun 16, 2009

Sam is just over 2 weeks out and it has been up and down, he is doing better now and is pushing himself more each day.
I am so proud of him!  That being said I am now starting my own journey and going forward  so that I can get healthier myself.  If I keep going this way I will look like my Grandmother and that is not what I want for myself or for my boys.  So I am doing this in a strange order, I have attened the classes with hubby and have changed how I am eating at home (work is still a challenge but I am getting better) I have scheduled an appointment with my PCP and have already weighed in with
Nancy.  I am now filling out my application and setting up a meeting with Jackie.  I am doing this in a strange order, but then again I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this.  So here we go let the ride begin.

Home for a week

Jun 13, 2009

OK well Sam has been home for a week now and is  still very sore. Other than that he is doing really well.  He is walking a lot and we are working on getting his protein in to him.  He is able to get about 30g a day in right now, but I am still working on that. He has found that he loves egg drop soup.  So I am now learning how to cook again after 30 plus years. lol
anyways he is doing well and I look forward to starting my journey now.

Home at last!

Jun 07, 2009

Well I have had Sam home for 2 nights now and he is sleeping so much better.  I am excited everyday at the progress.  Getting in and out of bed is a chalenge, but he is doing more and more himself.   He is still sore in some places but that is to be expected.  We are still working on getting enough protien and fluids in but everyday is better.
