Surgeon Testimonial

John Gens M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. gens is great. He is patient and kind. He makes you feel as if you are his only patient. He encourages questions and phone calls. ( I am sure he will regret telling me that) He was great with our 14 year old son who had questions about the surgery. I can't say enough about him.

For today
on May 18, 2010 11:09 am
Just for today I have made a better choice for me. That is how I am taking this week.  We will bury my mother on Saturday and it is bringing all the hurt back up again.  I would normally run to the baking and bake & eat my way through all of the pain, but I am not doing that and I am happy about it.  I have lost weight since mom passed and I have kept it off, I am still pre-op so I could eat anything I want, but I haven't and that makes me feel good.

I am in charge of baking the cake and making some of the food for after and I have decided to make it all at a friends house and not touch it.   I know Mom was  always worried about my weight and I am now going to do something about it.   I know it will be a tough weekend, but I have a great husband and wonderful kids to help me through.

And just for today I will make the right choices and when tomorrow comes I will know how to chose for TODAY!

Set Backs

Today, my husband recieved the results from his upper GI and we found out he has a narrowed esophagus, a band of something around the top of his stomach and he has ulcers.  He is only 5 pounds away from goal weight to have his surgery and now we have to deal with this first. I have put a brave face on and told him it will work out and be fine, but I am not sure.  He has been trying to have the RYN surgery for almost 5 years now and he is so close I am afraid this will make it so he can't have the surgery.  That all the classes and pre-op is in vain? Has anyone else gone thru anything like this pre-surgery?

Thanks
Sookie
