I am so ready I have already begin changing my way of life the way I look at food now I find myself reading everything on the labels cal, fat, trans fat you name it I am reading it from a-z I have started drinking the protein every morning, just before I take my thyroid meds, one hour later I take my multivits, and from there i take everything else that I will have to take but I take them according to the way you are supposed to take them if you are post op one thing I found out so I had to double up on the Iron is that I am anemic so I have to take it 2 times a day 325mg so that is 650 mg aday, but I am so happy I have lost 13 lbs in the last 2 months and I am going to continue to loose until surgery. well I will upday you more as I go along on this journey and I hope you continue to send your prayers and joys my way

Well I have completed class 21 only 3 left to do, on april 13 I completed all my labs, my chest xray and my ekg. according to my instructor and also according to Member service you authorization is complete only thing they are waiting for is you PCP to sign off but he/she does not get their paperwork to sign off until you have completed all your classes and I am complete on May 9, I called dr Suh office today and according to his sect. if they have all the paper work I could be looking at surgery around the first of June. if everything is okay.  Yahooooo. I know I have been told by several Kaiser members who had the surgery that Kaiser will send you a denial letter well I asked that question and per member service and I had them put it in writing if you complete the 24 week classes you are approved the letter also states that if you were accepted in to the option classes you were automatically qualified for the surgery there is no way that we will have you go 24 weeks and not allow the surgery so I am happy I am counting the day/months

My Story

Hello everyone I guess I will start my story. I have been contemplating on if I should write my story or not well I have decided to write my story so here it goes.  I can not say that I have been overweight my entire life because that would not be true. I was a small child all the way until my Senior year in high school, I maintained a size 3-4 the whole time until I begin hanging with the gang(as we would call ourselves back in the day a group of six girl friends and boyfriends), every Saturday night we would take our lowered cars show off in westwood then hit the spot at fat burgers and pig out, that is when I started gaining my weight, but the most of my weight gain started at the age of 21 when I lost my father to lung cancer. That was my best friend to this day I can still hear my father call me come here Little bit. Love you daddy. and miss you so much.

From that point I went up and up  and up depression can really hurt you weight wise. In 1993 when I got pregnant I started out at 195lbs but as the months went by I got bigger and bigger, when I had my son I weighed 245 lbs and stayed at the weight for 5 years. Then I started going up again because of the stress at work and relationship problems. It got so bad that when I would pick my son up from the babysitter I would stop and buy us dinner that is when Mcdonald's became our best friend I nevered would cook I would stop at Mcdonald's pick up dinner and home we went eat and bathe and bed no excerise what so ever this went on for another 5 years.

In 2000 I began working with the County of Riverside at the point I started getting fed up with the weight and began going to weight doctor and begin taking Phen-fen at the time I did not know how bad these pills were for you all I know is that I started losing weight and it felt good. Well as they say all good things must come to an end and it did I started have heart problems and I started have stomach problems while on the Phen-fen I lost a total of 45 lbs. only to put it all back on plus some.

After I had my galdbladder removed in 2002. I started going back to another weight loss doctor to go on some other type of pill that did nothing but make me even hungier In 2004 I started looking into WLS but I was scared to even think about having it so I threw it to the back burner in my mind. Again in 2005 I went to my PCP at Kaiser and requested a referrel for surgery well a few weeks later I recieved a card in the mail saying I did not qualify.  I was mad as hell then I called Kaiser and I was told because I did not have any Illness that qualified me for the surgery. I asked the receptionist that I was talking to if the doctors had looked at my records because I am a patient currently being treated for a heart condition. So I went to my PCP agian and asked if he could submit the paper work again and he did and again I was denied this time I found out that Kaiser had me under two medical record numbers and the one that the Bariatric clinic was looking at was not a current one I had member service merge the charts together and my PCP resubmitted the request again and guess what yep I was sent a package to fill out and then I got a call with an appointment to come to orientation.

I started my 6 months classes that Kaiser require you to attend on November 29,2006 and I am now into my 16 week. I injoy going to the classes sometimes but all in all the classes has answered alot of question that I have had. I will be updating as the classes goes I ask that you wish me luck through my Journey and send lots of Prayer and Blessings my way.
