So years down the road
on March 25, 2009 7:26 am
The other day I noticed a fellow I knew before surgery.  He worked with me and was just as overweight as me.  I shared my journey with him and had hoped he's follow suit.  Anyway he eventualy had to take a medical retirement because he had gained so much weight his skin was splitting.  I so him walking down the hallway and he had to weigh at least 550 lbs.  He would walk a short way then stop to catch his breath then walk a few steps again.  My heart just broke for him.  I felt so many diferent things at that moment.  reflecting on how much my life has changed since surgery.  My new wife, my new home, my new family (monster step boys) our dogs and the active life we live.  I rdie motorcycles, work in my garage (manland) and am constantly doing something!  I don't follow the rules completely and weigh in at 220 lbs but hey I feel good at this weight and the wife thinks I look good (then again she's blind as a bat).  I guess what I'm trying to say is this procedure literally saved my life.  I would do it again in a heartbeat if for nothing other the fact that I am taking charge of my life and not giving in to a misserable existance.
Well that's about all I have to say.  Happiness and thinness to everyone!  Bob

Well Not sure
on November 13, 2007 6:33 pm
I think I'm doing this right.  I am coming up on 3 years post op.  I have found I like Big Hunk candy bars.  So far it hasn't beena problem.  My loverly wife fusses at me but will steal a nibble every once in a while.  She likes them too.  Oh well we are fairly smart about it all.  I guess life does go on after WLS and we will eventually try other stuff like sugar and chocolate.  But we have to always be aware of our weight.  I know I do back off when I see the scales start to climb.   Luckily I have a wifer that keeps me grounded.  I am blessed.  Well that pretty much covers it right now I think.  sparky

Well I supose

I should put something in here.  I'm not real sure what happened to all the other stuff I had in this thing.  Oh well
I am currently about 2-1/2 years out from surgery.  I seem to be sitting right at 200 lbs.  I think with the extra skin and stuff that make me just about right.  Although it really doesn't matter all that much to me.  I am happy where I am and so is my wife.  She thinks I am the cats meow and that is all that matters.
She is a little over 2-1/2 years out also and she is lookin fine.  I am so proud of her.  Turns out her pouch was too big from the original surgery.  The Doc here in Renoville that did me went back in and fixed her and she has dropped 30 pounds so far.  She lost over 100 pnds with a screwed up pouch and was in some serious pain a lot of the time.  She is an amazing woman.
Well that's all I can think to comment on right now.  Not real sure if I'm putting this in the right place anyway.
