Surgeon Testimonial

Isaias Irgau, M.D.
Dr. Irgau and his staff are very infomative and polite. He was highly recommeded. They offer a lot of structured services before and after surgery. I would recommend him to anyone that is considering surgery.

PreOp was 2days ago!
posted on 6/20/09 6:51 am
I went for my preOp appt 2 days ago. It went great. I was worried I was going to go and they tell me my insurance didn't approve me. Well I made it out the office with instruction as what to do before I arrive on the day of surgery.  YIPPEE!!

The waiting room was packed, and there was a little bit of wait. I didn't mind because I had the opportunity to meet so many people. There were some there for their consult, band fills, post op appt, and preop as well.  Everyone was chatting in the lobby as if we were at a family reunion. Only thing missing for me was the ribs!

There was a young lady in the office who had the surgery 4 weeks ago. Although she was successful in losing 36lbs, she discovered she is able to tolerate anything. She has been eating all the foods she was eating prior to surgery. I was a little annoyed because why would someone go through such an invasive procedure and not try and do better.  I then realized I was doing just what all the skinny people in the world do, judge. I tried to be a little more empathetic to her story. I realized that habits are hard to break and the surgery only fixes the physical and you are left to correct the mental. I think the required psychology appointments should be after the surgery. I think that would be helpful.

I pray that I have the will power and support to obtain my goals, change my lifestyle, and embrace my new journey.
