Surgeon Testimonial

Isaias Irgau, M.D.
Dr. Irgau and his staff are very infomative and polite. He was highly recommeded. They offer a lot of structured services before and after surgery. I would recommend him to anyone that is considering surgery.

WEEK 7
on August 20, 2009 5:19 am

It has now been 7 weeks and I was getting so frustrated because I have been going to the gym and watching what I eat, but I was not losing any weight. I decided to do just protein shakes and veggies and fruit. I started losing again and I feel good. I am smaller than I was when I met my husband and almost to my college weight.  Only 26lbs to go before I am under the 200lb mark. I am getting so excited. I have been taking pictures. As soon as i find my usb cord for my camera I will post.

Five weeks and 32lbs lost!!!
on July 30, 2009 7:21 am
I am five weeks out and down 32 pounds. I am feeling good. I was a little worried if I made the right choice by having this surgery. I had trouble keeping anythng down. I had to go back the hospital for dehydration and my vitamins were low.  Well that is a thing of the past. I am doing well and feeling great. I am even working out at the gym.  I need to get some pictures posted.  I am in a size 18 pants. Only 86 pounds to reach my goal.

NO sex and NO chicken...
on July 4, 2009 5:45 am

It has almost been 2 weeks since my surgery. I am still a little sore.  I can't keep much down. I hate the taste and smell of everythng. Its like my senses are all out of wack. I hate the way chicken taste and smell. I am sadden by this. HOW in the hell can I hate chicken.  I am having trouble with this protein. I don't want my hair falling out, so I better figure it out.

I am also an emotional wreck. I cry all the time. My husband ask me did someone in that hospital get me pregnant. LOL.  I am emotional, vomiting, and picky about food. He is so silly.

I am also always tired and have very little energy. I know it is because I am not eating. I can't keep anything down. I drink plenty of water, but I can't live on water and love alone.

This four week no sex thing also got me all crazy. My hubby was out of town 2 weeks before my surgery and know he is home we have to wait another 4 weeks. OH boy. My life. NO sex.. NO Chicken....

I am gonna cry now.

I'm Back... and full of gas.
on June 27, 2009 1:19 pm
I am home and doing well. I have so much gas. I have been walking, but not much is passing. The gas in my back and shoulder is the worst. I have been doing liquids since I've come home. It has been hard trying to get the required amount in.  I haven't had any problems taking my vitamins and things. The protein... well that is a different story. I tried all these different ones before surgery, and I picked one that was bearable. After surgery, I hate it.  I'll get my swagga back. The best news of all is I am healthy and lost 6lbs since my surgery and a total of 13!!!

The day of surgery. I had so much support. My mother, sister, and best friend were all there. I love those guys. I was so scared, but I didn't show it. The funniest thing happened when I was in holding. The fine guy comes in to scrub my stomach. I was to embarrassed. He was scrubbing me like I was some fat-nasty! The next thing I remember is pushing myself up on the operating table, and then  waking up in my room. Everyone was all in my face asking me a thousand questions. I was in so much pain. I just acted as if I couldn't hear them. I just wanted to rest. The pain came from the drain tube that was pressed against my stomach and diaphragm.  (they removed that on day three)

I was able to rest maybe 1 hour and then I was up walking the halls.

Day 2 was a breeze.  So many of the people from my surgeons office came to visit and answer any questions I had. They all were very polite and thoughtful.  The only problem I had on day two was the IV in my hand had rolled and all the liquid was going into my arm and hand. It was a little painful and very annoying.

Discharge Day!!

I was up showered, walked and pumped my morphine twice all by 7 AM. I recommend everyone to pump at least twice before they come remove the drain tube. It goes fast, but the pressure is crazzzy horrible. After it is out. WOW! time to rock and roll! Well... that is until u get home and day four comes and you are so full of gas.

I have so many funny pics I will post soon.

take care,
Keisha

OH MY!
on June 23, 2009 11:33 am

Before I start telling you about day 2 on this crazy liquid diet, I wanted to thank the staff (Mistee, Carla) at CHRIAS. I had a little scare. After starving myself for the past 2 days, I go to the mailbox to get a letter from AETNA saying they didn't have enough information to approve my surgery. I wanted to cry. I could not believe I had come this far and yet it seem so unobtainable. Damn, the more I thought about about it I became furious. I was ready to take my "morbidly Obese" naked butt up to Aetna's headquarters and show them up close and personal all the information they needed to approve me. I am fat and hungry and not one to mess with!

Then....

I get a call from Carla explaining they always do that just because they can. Then  Mistee called and explained to me she had my approval and report as scheduled TOMORROW!!!!!!

OK. Now about my 2nd day on the liquid diet. My plan was to take something so I could sleep through these two days, but the loud noise of my stomach growling wouldn't allow that to happen. So I decided to watch TV, only to realize everyone on TV was EATING. I quickly got dressed, grabbed my keys, and rushed to the nearest store. I ran down the isle and there it was
JELLO.
